Playstation Portable (PSP)

I've thought of picking up a PSP since it's wicked cheap now - but I think I'll wait for the inevitable Vita price drop (since it's mostly backwards compatible, ableit digitally).  There are a ton of games that I'd be very interested in - Corpse Party being one o them.

I'm with you on the Oracle of Seasons, brews.  It offers tons of possibilities.  Unfortunately I can't sell any of my homebrew - it's against state and federal law.  Perhaps when I open my own nano brewery.

On a side note, I can absolutely give my brews away.  Keep this in mind everybodyCool

Some Questions

Posted on 02/28/2013 at 09:59 PM | Filed Under Blogs

As the helmer of the MIA series, I can assure you that I don't have any issues with you doing something similar with Darkstalkers here.  Just make sure you put your own spin on it instead of aping what has already been done (I highly doubt you're planning to).

Concerning NSFW, just make sure you clearly mark such entries as such.  We're pretty liberal around here, but it should go without saying that we don't want to play host to blatently hostile material (specifically hate speach and pornographic material).  I doubt anything you would post anything that would fit into that category, so as Travis said above, use your judgement.  If you think some people may take some offense to, just warn them with the NSFW moniker.

I look forward to reading whatever you produce!

Leaving the Console Behind

Posted on 02/28/2013 at 02:41 PM | Filed Under Feature

This is very true - but the machine I'm building will already be more powerful than the PS4, and upgrading will only require certain components to be replaced.  There's a heavy initital cost, but then only replacing CPU and/or GPU ends up being less expensive than getting a new console.

Plus games are cheaper on PC - a savings that is often overlooked when making this decision.  I'll still have my consoles, but I'll be playing most of my games on my living room PC.

I don't mean to be a plug whore, but we did a staff feature way back talking about HD collections we want to see.  You guys should check it out.

Leaving the Console Behind

One thing I want to put out there that possibly wasn't clearly addressed in this piece is that I'm not completely abandoning the console.  I have a Wii U and will likely pick up the PS4, albeit further down the road.

My main point is that my gaming center is shifting from the console to the PC - whereas now I game primarily on the console and play a few things here and there on PC.  That dynamic is changing, and I'm excited for things to come.

Since I'll be building my living room, gaming pc from scratch, I'll be sure to post again concerning this.

My Thoughts on PixlBit So Far

Posted on 02/28/2013 at 11:12 AM | Filed Under Blogs

You should also keep in mind that many of the PixlBit staff were, at one time, 1up bloggers.  I was the first to move to PixlBit and persuaded a couple of others to join, like Julian, Patrick, Travis, Vic, and Mike.  I feel like I may be missing someone in there (and I'm sorry if I did), but our history there has helped to shape PixlBit - not into 1up 2.0 - something different but inspired by the community effort put forth by that site.

I think we're starting to get some traction.  More changes are coming in the future - we hope you like them.

In regards to the "Barrel Ale" I think I would do a classic American Ale, aged in whiskey soaked barrels.  Believe it or not, this is something I can do - and it would be fantastic.
