He's equally happy with both I think. He loves his toys, but he doesn't always play with them like he's supposed to. Give him a box of crayons and he can spend hours just putting the crayons in and taking them out of the box. He likes to pull his toys apart and put them back together (or make me do it lol).
It seems like you and I have the same reverence for classic game franchises--Metal Gear, Resident Evil, Castlevania. I haven't beaten a Metal Gear since 2, but I buy them all with the intention of beating them. I guess I really need to go play 3 and 4 (and Peace Walker) to understand what's going on.
Oh, and the Resident Evil Remake was the best. I bought the Gamecube just for it. I guess I'll probably buy it again, but I hate when old assets are stretched or blurred to convert them to 1080p.
Love looking at old magazines. I had a bunch of video game magazines before I moved out of my parents house and spent a whole day reading them before I had to throw them out :( Oh well. I think I kept a few, but not nearly as many as I wanted (I had subscriptions to a few of them for years and would have liked to have kept them all).
Glad to see you're back! This holiday was hard with my dad being gone, but my 2 year old son finally learned about presents and looked for them whenever we went to someone else's house (even if they weren't for him lol). It was good to see him so excited.
Agents of Shield is pretty good, especially after the Winter Soldier tie-in. I watched a few episodes of the new season and it looks like they're introducing more characters from the comics, which is cool. I wonder if they'll ever make it to the big screen in either their own movie or cameos in Avengers or whatnot. It still feels separate from the cinematic universe, probably because they haven't found an infinity stone lol.
Guilty Gear Xrd is visually amazing, and plays pretty well too. I kinda hate buying Arc Systems' games because they are worse than Capcom when it comes to constantly revising their fighting games and charging near full price for slightly upgraded versions. I can't argue with their quality, but I just know I'm going to regret buying Xrd when the next version comes out with all the characters they left out.
For the record, I like I-No's design, but Sol, Ky, Jam, and Chipp were easier for me to use. Damn, there are so many great characters in Guilty Gear, it's hard to pick a favorite.
I miss the old days. I never worried about my NES or SNES breaking. One good thing about video games being considered kid's toys--they were built to withstand abuse.
I have an original model 360 (not a launch model but before the slim came out). It works but I hardly ever play it. I'm more concerned about the ps3, since I used that more regularly. Ever since PS one I've pretty much had to buy 2 PlayStations per generation cause the launch ones developed problems.
Yeah my slim ps3 works fine. Of course I had to buy that one after my 60gig backwards compatible model got the ylod. I also had to get another ps2 to make up for the fact that the newer ps3 didn't play my collection of ps2 games (my wife threatened to make me sell them if I didn't have a console to play them on). I never even opened it. Yep, I have an unopened ps2 lying around. I assume it works too lol.
My Atari 2600 worked until my mom included it in our garage sale years ago. I'm sure it still works wherever it is. I wouldn't be surprised if some of those copies of ET that they buried in the desert still work lol.
Yeah I was going to mention that in my blog but I forgot. Apple forces people to upgrade by making newer versions of iOS incompatible with older gen iPods/iphones, making them useless for running apps. That's why I'm not considering a new iPhone as a replacement. I can at least have hope that a new android will work until it dies. With apple, I KNOW they'll force me to buy a new one even if the old one still technically functions. And don't get me started on Windows lol.
