Games scrutinized: Ben's review of Ninja Gaiden Razor's Edge!

Yup. Say what you will about Itagaki but he & his team did a great job with NG: Black. There seemed to be actual exploration in that game and though it was hard it never felt cheap and unfair.

I dunno,NG always seems to screw up when it throws in mercenaries, helicopters, robots, and mechs. It's at its' best when it centers around Lovecraftian conspiracies, demonic fiends, and scary ninja cults.

Glad my game has inspired you,Matt! Hopefully you haven't run into any game breaking bullshit. lol.

The camera can't keep up. I kind of understand. NG:RE is a fast game,Chris. Still, I don't think improving the camera would be impossible.

Beyond that, the enemy AI really is too ridiculous. Enemies seem to be able to grab onto you and self detonate at a whim. It also sucks once they have you on the ground there's no last minute resort to throw them off.

It'll give you challenge,Chris. I'd just hesitate to call that challenge balanced and fair. However, after grinding with Momiji a bit I have started to make progress on the game's normal difficulty within chapter select. I just wish there was an intermediate difficulty between "Invincible hero smash!" and "Normal? Just kidding bra,dis is hard mode!"

I want a future NG like Arkham Asylum that's entirely within Hayabusa village and the surrounding country side but that might be asking too much. It's just the Batman games did things with stealth & combat I think the NG series could learn something from.

Spooky Reviews!

I'd be interested in the capcom character book just because capcom played such a pivotal role in my gaming hijinks when I was younger. Laughing

Sadly, I cannot comment on any of these games because I have not played them myself.

Pretty much. lol. You feel as if you're in slow-mo as the game is running at 150 frames a second. Your reaction time has to be ridiculously precise or you'll get your ass handed to you by the lowest of thugs,Peter. lol.

Ayane is a good character,Cary. I like her fighting style a lot. She's very "unpredictable". I'm probably eventually going to get Dead Or Alive 5 Ultimate too.

Can't get enough of X-men. Even liked "Last Stand" though many of its' liberties and inconsistancies pissed me off as a long time fan of the comics. Still hoping Joss Whedon gets to direct at least one X-men film. I think he'd do a fantastic job at it!

Guilty (Listening) Pleasures: Rob Zombie - Hellbilly Deluxe

I never felt guilty listening to Rob but I've always been a freak to begin with. lol. "She's a killer" (Spookshow baby) is one of my favorite Zombie songs of all time.

I spit on your grave: My advice? Stay away. Your opinion may vary.

You hit the nail on its' head. I went into this movie because it supposedly was a "cult classic" but in actuality it did not introduce anything new or push any envelops. Just another excuse to mix violence, sex, and killing into a single bloody cocktail.

Don't misunderstand me. Some people like this kind of stuff and it doesn't make them "bad" or "evil". We are not always defined by what we play or what we watch. This simply is not my guilty pleasure of choice.

By contrast I think "Night Of The Living Dead" deserves its' status as a cult classic. Yes,zombies are common but the way that movie set up its' characters and the way it ended was revolutionary for that time period.
