It's one of those games you try, being hopeful, but after many attempts and frustrations, set it down and say, "Forget it!" I totally get ya'. It's not the best fighting game, but it has its place.

Yeah, I really like the story. All the individual backstories are good too.
When you say "these fighting games," are you referring to oldschool fighters, or just any fighting game? I'll admit, the characters in EC are pretty cool (for the most part). The characters of Street Fighter II are iconic and incredibly distinct from each other. Honestly, I'm not a fighting game-type guy, but I do enjoy picking them up and trying them out every now and then.
Brawl is an incredible game! There's tons to do, it will keep you busy for awhile. The Wii has a lot of great games, in my opinion (I don't understand why so many people think it has a bad library). Both Galaxy games are amazing. NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams and Okami are also great 3rd party games that I would recommend. If you like Punch-Out, you'll love the Punch-Out game for Wii, it's super fun and charming. Those are my recommendations for Wii. I don't have a Wii U, but already there's some great games for the system. From what I've heard, SM3DW will not let you down.
Sadness and gloom is appropriate, but where would we be without happiness??? I'm totally kidding, you're right, of course.
Hm, that's one way to look at it. On the other hand, it allows more time for you to reflect on your failure and death. . . so I guess you're absolutely right!
Right? Funniest Game Over screen EVER!!!
Ah yes, Brentafloss. Love that video.
Don't worrry, Joe, I saw Game Over screens a lot too. Actually, I still see them frequently (especially if I'm playing retro games, they're tough!).
It was released on several systems, all of which you probably never had, such as Amiga, ZX Spectrum, Lynx, Commodore 64, and some others. Most notably, it's available on the Wii Virtual Console. The NES version was completely different, thank God!
Yeah, I saw the rottentomatoes score, and according to their score, this movie is the worst Spider-man movie yet (worse than SM3 even!). However, you can't always trust what the critics say. It's all opinion mostly. I definitely want to see it; love the original trilogy!
