What's In Your Systems?

Dark Souls 3 is really amazing. It easily takes the second spot in the Souls ranking for me. I know Blake didn't love it as much as I did, but I played it like 3 or 4 times back to back after I got it. Once the DLC drops, I'll be going back again for a fresh playthrough.

I mean, realistically, I love all the Souls games almost equally. They all have different quirks and rhythms, despite all being very similar. These small differences make them interesting and fresh to come back to after playing any other game in the series. Basically since Dark Souls came out, I've been playing through a Souls game, which is kind of insane, but I just can't get enough. Despite knowing and seeing basically everything, there's almost always something new to see and experience or a new play style I haven't tried to make it seem fresh and new. Those games are all master class.

Agreed! It's really great. If you like Planet Robobot, be sure to check out Triple Deluxe as well. Very similar in a lot of ways, just no mech, so they have a bunch of different gimmicks. Robobot is actually what I'm playing right now as well. That and Rhythm Thief (which is also great, minus the motion rhythm games).

And, of course, I'm always playing some Souls game. Right now, Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin. Patiently awaiting the DS3 DLC...

I freaking loved N+. Played both the DS and PSP versions of the game and have been looking forward to this for a while. Not surprised to see that this came out so well.

Wasn't much a fan of this game from either a mechanical standpoint or a narrative. Didn't get the emotional impact out of the story that everyone else seems to have. Dad acts like Dad... news at 11.

It was an 80GB MGS4 model. So pretty old. Apparently what happened to it is pretty common, and I guess I should be thankful that it actually lasted this long. Oh well, bummer...

Well, as fate would have it, the thing just bit the dust. God damn that's what I call shitty luck.

Wow, that's awesome! RIT grads seem to make their way around. Funny enough, my college roommate's parents were both high ranking professors at Cornell. RPI is a nice school though and Troy is a pretty nice little city to be connected to, so I can understand reconsidering. Their Science and Engineering programs are all supposed to be amazing, but I'm not sure what he's going to school for.

Not sure if it's computer science related, but if so, I'd tell him to check out RIT too (their science and engineering stuff is also top notch, I just personally can vouch for their IT college). The school and profs are really great and RIT really puts the tuition money you pay to good use. I graduated a decade ago and I barely recognize the place because they've built so much onto it.

If you're ever back in town to visit, give us a shout, we'd love to meet up! We live about 15-20 mins away from Troy, so it wouldn't be a big deal to swing out there.

Cool to hear you were in Troy! I work right on the other side of the river from RPI. Actually considered going to college there, but went to RIT instead.

Very sorry to hear about your dog :( Always tough seeing them go, especially after spending so many years together.

Glad to hear from you though, hope to see you around again soon!
