Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing Preview

Posted on 02/21/2010 at 10:38 PM | Filed Under Preview

This has definitely piqued my interest in the game. It was decent enough at E3, but didn't really grab me. Since then, it seems as if Sega has really gone out of their way to make a solid racing title.

Due to my Banjo-Kazooie love, I'll probably grab the 360 version when I do get the game, but I doubt that I'll be running out to buy it on release.

No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle Review

I can see where you're coming from with the Tarantino thing. That actually makes more sense than anything else I've heard about the game's story. I guess when it comes down to it, I just liked the more light-hearted mood of the first. Having gone straight from the first to the second, the contrast was very stark.

My issue with the assassins is that they didn't leave a lasting impact on me because most of them didn't require me to create some crazy new strategy to beat them. For the majority of them, dodging and subsequently attacking worked like a charm. The only boss fight in the game I died on was the final boss.

Part of what made the bosses so memorable in the first were their themed stages. I didn't really get that in this one, and that took away some of the allure.

I can't really qualify it well, I just didn't seem to like this one as much as the first. That's not to say it's a bad game, it was a blast, but it definitely felt like it was missing something.

"Game of the Year"?! Part Two

Scribblenauts was a total disappointment. On one hand, having played it at E3, I left thinking it was the greatest thing I had ever seen. Of course this was after playing it for a total of 10 or so minutes.

While my review for NWR was a bit late (due to running this site, of course), I pretty clearly stated that I commend the effort and that I believe the idea was solid, but the execution was just awful.

I don't understand how any critic could honestly say the game was anything more than a fun experiment that needed some serious polish. I'm all for a Scribblenauts 2 that clears up all of these crazy issues, but I'm not sure 5th Cell is capable of that level of polish.

Pretty cool to see Sonic & Knuckles with the whole lock-on technology bit. Not too much that I'm interested in this week though, until next week...

Oh, does anyone know if that Spotto! game is from WarioWare or is that a new creation altogether?

XSEED Games Offering Preorder Bonus for Fragile Dreams

Yeah, I'm not too keen on this going straight to Gamestop, but it is nice that such a bonus exists.

It seems like the company that barely needs exclusive stuff to operate gets it all the time. I'd much rather see the bonus be available everywhere.

I also downloaded my copy, except I grabbed it last night. Definitely a pretty good game, though the controls are a bit frustrating. Awesome that we get it for free.

Tomena Sanner! So grabbing that tonight. Not a huge Blaster Master fan, so forget that.

This game looked like absolute ballsack at E3. Given the high level of Conduit suckage, I don't expect much from this one.
