You don't need an app to play these games. Just scan the QR code and it takes you there. I imagine it's just browser based.

Since I wrote that Minecraft article, I've gotten a few more things from them so in a couple of weeks there will be another article with some new stuff!
You don't play as the whale in Skies Above. You just ride atop it while defending it from robots.
Cozy Land is just a virtual dollhouse with no goals and objectives.
Kirby and Klonoa are my favorites from your list.
I got a press release about that Lunar game.
I don't really consider DKC Returns a remake, but a whole new game. It's way harder too. I can't beat it, and I can bet the original three on SNES.
Super Mario Bros. Wonder is probably the best 2D Mario since Super Mario World and Yoshi's Island. It's not as good as those games, but still good.

Yooka-Laylee could've been a good spiritual successor to Banjo-Kazooie if it didn't have meandering levels and annoying bosses. The 2D spinoff, The Impossible Lair, played more like Donkey Kong Country but also got way too hard.
Too bad you're doing turn based games for the SNES era console generation since those had some of my favorites (FF6, Chrono Trigger, etc.)
Retro games are getting expensive, too!
If you ever beat the first Klonoa game, just be prepared. it has one of the saddest video game endings I've ever seen. Which is surprising for such a cutesy game.
Akatsuki is definitely interesting and kept me interested longer than what I thought it would. But not that much longer.
If Switch 2 prices keep going up, I predict a resurgance in game rentals.
