My history with Gears games is weird. I actually shunned the series for a long while. I didn't like the dude-bro macho attitudes and just thought it was another multiplayer shooter. However, one summer I started Gears of War 1 and found that it was a lot of fun single player and even better playing the whole campaign in co-op, not to mention Horde mode. From there it was right into GOW2 and then Cliffy-B's swan song, GOW3 - the best game in the series.

October in Your Pocket: Zombie Gunship

Those gunships didn't fare too well in the World War Z film I'm afraid. But really, that should be a good place to be in a zombie apocalypse.

I thought it looked better than Star Wars from only two years previous.

They're both great in different ways.

I heard there's a movie coming. Not sure how that's going to work, but the book was good.

I'll put it on my list.

A Little Bit of Gaming, a Pile of Shame

I've tried other RTS games on 360. LOTR: Battle for Middle Earth II and others, but Halo Wars worked the best. It's Ensemble, Age of Empires, enough said.

Vampire Screwed IV: Oblivious

Posted on 10/22/2013 at 03:18 AM | Filed Under Blogs

Further reading has revealed that I probably contracted Vampirism in a quest I did last week where I had to kill some vampires as a Mage and didn't realize I'd got it. Three days later, when I went to sleep at the Arcane University, I became a full blown Vampire and had a dream about being burried alive (I miss-remembered the dream above). Apparently it takes 3 days for the disease to become permanent.

Once before, when I was in the Fighter's Guild, I had gotten the disease and noticed it. So I drank a Cure Disease potion right away. You can cure Vampirism like that if you catch it early.

I found American Gods interesting but really confusing. I think the plot needed some pruning and a little more focus. It seemed to ramble along. Wander. Maybe that's part of it though. The main character was a little lost himself, being manipulated by all the different Gods.

My favorite thing of his was that Marvel 1602 comic series. So good and the cover art by Scott McKowen was to die for.

Oh, I forgot. The first thing I saw of Neil's was the Stardust movie. That was a good one.
