Ha I had the same dilemna in choosing between getting VP or CC one time I was in Funcoland. At the time PS1 releases were going through a thin season, at least for anything I was interested in. So I decided to check out older games I missed. I wound up going with CC, as I wanted something more recognizable and traditional than what VP and it's side scrolling, single character segments was offering. I turned out being quite satisfied with my purchase, and that is without comparison to the other game, which i never played.
As far as VP, always thought the character sprites in battle looked cool, and still do. Their designs are in the same fantasy-anime vein as Record of Lodoss War. I only actually played Silmeria though. Good game, but lost somethingwith the switch to 3D models.
Welcome back. I've been gone a while and this is my first day back too.
Possibly my favorite OST. It transcends video games, more than any other game soundtrack I can think of. However as far as compositions, I think several CV OSTs are up there with it. They just didn't have the sound quality that CD rom games had, aside from Rondo of Blood. But that game's music, while stellar, is not quite as stellar as Bloodlines, Super, or Simon's Quest imo
Didn't play much new this year. Inscryption looks like the most interesting game that came out, to me. I just got a PS5, and I use X Cloud, so I'll be catching up on last gen games I couldn't run on PC or were exclusives. I'm engrossed in Bloodborne currently. Also want to try Monster Hunter World, Sekiro, DMC5, Persona 5, and a few others.
Speaking of MH, is the main progress loop the same as the mainline games? Hunt monsters, use their parts to craft gear to fight more monsters? If so, could be interesting with TB party battles.
Honestly you can just fight your way through Dishonored. It was misrepresented as a stealth game on the order of Thief or Splinter Cell. Sneaking is an option, but the mechanics are not that developed, and loudly murdering everyone with all the powers and weapons they give you is just as viable and probably more satisfying.
God Hand is one of the best melee action games of all time, easily.
To stream games on PC you have to upgrade to the ultimate membership, which lets you stream console games to your PC, so I did that. The console game selection on GP is larger than the PC selection, which you cannot stream, since it has Xbox 360 and One exclusives. Gears of War is on both lists, so now I can stream it and it runs much better, and I don't have to use 52gigs of HD space
I just installed and subscribed to GamePass. I tried PSNow, so now this one. I can only download Gears of War Ultimate Edition for now as I only have 62gb hdd space and the game requires about 56 o_O. Been wanting to play Gears for the longest, never had a 360 or Xbone. I see I'm going to be having to install and uninstall one game at a time. Gears is short from what I've read, which is what I want right now. Probably go Halo 3 after that, which is also relatively brief.
Since it looks like it's a full game install, I wonder if I can even run it. PSNow streams games, so I can play things on my laptop that I wouldn't be able run normally. Kind of. I get significant input lag on Bloodborne and some minor but noticeable lag on Nioh 2, Last of Us, and God of War. But at least they run at decent enough frames while looking good.
