Episode 149: Remaking the Remaster

Posted on 04/17/2019 at 02:00 PM | Filed Under Feature

STAGE SELECT:

Disclaimer, I hate puzzle games and puzzles in general when it comes to video games. My answer will be Portal (whole game). I played it because of the hype and I tolerated it enough to make it through it. My thoughts it was okay, one day I will play the sequel.

CAGE MATCH:

Skyrim by a mile. I have never played a Yakuza game but I can already declare that Skyrim would be my favorite of the two. I hadn’t played Skyrim until maybe a year or two ago even though it’s been out forever and released on every console. Yakuza 0 looked like a fun game but I haven’t played the series so I never bothered to buy or play it.

Enter the Gungeon I recommend for short runs, it’s a lot of fun. I have been playing it since it released a few years ago. A run usually lasts 30mins for me.

I tried to get into PC gaming and made a Steam account, boy was that a mistake, I think I own around 200 games on there that I may never touch again. PC gaming costs too much for the rig for my taste, I would rather wait for PlayStation 5 and have one machine I don’t have to touch for 7 years.

I am glad to be back. I log in here and read and listen to the podcast, I just haven’t been writing anything. I want to change that.

Thailand will be interesting, a little bit nervous to traveling to the opposite side of the globe, it will be worth it in the end I hope lol.

March 2019 Recap

I’ve been interested in the Metro games, but I’ve never played one. There is a new one out recently that looks good as well. I have so many games already I doubt I’ll have time to play one. #backlog

I was kind of hesitant about playing Horizon at first because I tend to lose interest in open world games pretty quickly. Once you start to dig into it though, I did really enjoy it. I need to add A LOT of games to my Backloggery lol, I have bought so many. I like that site, its a fun way to track game playing. Rocket League is so fun, probably one of my all-time favorites, I mean I have been playing it for years now. Enter the Gungeon and...Clash of Clans lol. COC is my game I play on breaks, bus rides and home watching TV.

I kind of felt that way too about the leveling in Horizon. What changed for me was watching some YouTube videos on how to take down some of the tougher enemies and watching the weapons they had really opened my eyes that I really needed to upgrade armor and weapons.

I love God of War so far but I loved almost every game in the series. The premise of taking on gods and mythical creatures is an exciting concept and has always been the draw to those game for me.

I thought the same when I saw your blog, good to see you’re still active. I understand about the music, its so much work, right? Once you get it done though it will make life a lot easier

It’s been years since I’ve posted a blog, literally. I’m working on one now. What are you ripping CDs for?

Episode 148: Higher. Further. Faster.

Long time, no post. I have been lurking in the shadows and listening regularly as usual though.

STAGE SELECT: Resident Evil 2 remake was the one I wanted and I am happy that exists. I will say Megaman Legends. I loved the colorful design, characters and story but the tank controls were a little off putting. I would like to see a higher res version with improved controls, more fleshed out story and gameplay similar to probably Splatoon because it’s the only game I can think of that is similar in style and it was a lot of fun to play.

VIDEO GAME CAGE MATCH: I feel like I will probably be in the minority here but I highly prefer Street Fighter V to Mortal Kombat XL. I own both, started to play through Mortal Kombat’s story mode, put an hour into it and haven’t touched it since, not that I didn’t like it or anything, I guess it didn’t hook me. Street Fighter V’s single player story is nothing special either though, I did finish it with every character though (fight money was my motivation). The gameplay is where Street Fighter V shines in my opinion, overwhelming at times against online opponents, it is a lot of fun despite the ass kickings I take online. I even just enjoy sitting in a lobby watching two players go at it until it’s my turn. I like the characters in Street Fighter more, Cammy became my main in SFV for the first time in the series, I also enjoy playing as Chun-Li. Street Fighter V is my pick.

Realized Capcom is in my whole posts, guess I favor them too as you were mentioning in the previous episode Julian.
