Yeah. It is hard to convey tone when typing, which can lead to some misunderstandings. This is why I generally leave my hyperboles until the end of a paragraph.

The problem with this is, then you get get cases where a kid making an offhanded joke gets sentenced to jail. Wait, shit, that already happens.
Thank you Darthkill. I try not to be an asshole when trying to get my point across. It doesn't always work.
Also, I apologise for not having written your name on a can. I tried to, but you couldn't see it in the photo and then I got sick and died.
Also also, just realised I don't know your name.
Yeah but it's not worth wasting them at this point, especially when he won't have any really good weapons. He's just be wasting them on crappy low tier weapons.
You don't really have to worry about spending souls until you finish the first level. When you finish the first level, even if you've lost a lot of souls, the boss will give you enough to level up a few times.
If you have a really hard time, try and level up your intelligence and use magic, it makes the game MUCH easier. It doesn't work against everything though, and the key to the Souls' games is being adaptive.
As for Parrying... I've finished Dark Souls 5 times, Demon's Souls 3 times, and Dark Souls 2 twice and it still takes me a good hour or two to remember how to parry properly.
A good rule for this game though: Light armour is your friend. It's better to be able to dodge an attack, and dodging is something you should get used to early...
Finally, on the topic of Brutal Doom, I feel like the real star of that mod is over looked. The gore isn't the most important part. They upgraded the sound, added mouse look, added new weapons, changed enemy attacks, redid all of the music, and much, much more. Even without the gore, Brutal Doom would be a necessary edition to the game. With the gore, it's just fucking fantastic.
Yeah it's in 1-1 you have to roll off the stairs over the gaurd rail.
Yeah, I want to help them, but there's some things I don't want to spoil as well. For instance, finding out how to defeat the fools idol is cool, as is finding out what Yurt does. Although I feel like Yurt could be a special case, because he could potentially fuck your game up if you don't know about him.
Magic is quite fun, but it also makes the game quite easy. Yes, it's not a solution to every problem, but it can make some areas extremely trivial. Also, I feel like we need to tell anyone new to this game to get the thief's ring. It is necessary for the 4th world. Also, if you're having difficulty, there is a sword in 4-1 that is really helpful in the early game and basically counts as this games "Drake Sword"
If you play as a magic caster, you straight up win the game from the get go. It's seriously powererful.
I'm going for a female thief build. Yes, the female is important, because I know I haven';t seen all of the female specific armours in this game.
