I had and hated this game as a kid. What a turd. One of the few games I traded in to Funcoland along with TMNT, Ghostbusters, and Robocop. On the positive side, they collectively funded A Link to the Past, which is phenomenal.

Oh, sure. I'll throw enough into Dex to make it worthwhile a bit further down the line. But I try to dump most into Strength up front since it's cheap and the ROI is best on that stuff early in the game.
I just grabbed the bundle version with Sly and Lego for $30. Haven't done anything with it yet, but I figured it'd be nice for playing the Persona games on the TV, as well as other oddball Vita and PS1 games. I'd also like to try the PS4 streaming out, but I'm guessing it won't be perfectly smooth based on my experience with Steam Link.
So far my typical strategy of dumping 100% of my levels into strength is working out well. I agree that it hasn't been too tough yet, though I'm not particularly far at this point. I think I saw you mention on Twitter you finished in 74 hours... so you've got 70 more hours into the game than I do at this point haha.
They're not my jam, but if you like them, I'm glad they're out there for you.
Thanks everyone :)
Thanks Matt! Also, here's the posting on Nintendo: http://www.nintendo.com/games/detail/pixlcross-wii-u
The release will be staggered across regions (still finishing up the text extraction). We're aiming for mid-May for Europe/Australia and Japan is still up in the air. We're currently talking with a publisher and have agreed on the terms of the contract, but still haven't officially inked the deal.
Tomorrow is going to be an interesting day!
I believe you typically get extra Picrites. Plays into the whole F2P nature of the game, I suppose. For us, time counts toward the total completion percent of the game, but not for anything else. If you complete 50% of the game, you'll unlock the Bonus puzzles, which are stupid hard.
There's also no progression gates in PixlCross, you can play any puzzle you want in the game (with the exception of Bonus). So if you're a more experienced player you can just skip to the Medium or Hard puzzles and get a tougher challenge out of the gate.
Thanks Peter! Super excited for everyone to give it a go.
