Silent Pinball Mayhem Untold

Posted on 10/03/2015 at 11:20 PM | Filed Under Blogs

I did watch the first Hotel Transylvania on theater. I really did like the physical/screwball comedy and animation, the art designs and the cutie known as Mavis, but much of the other comedy was hit-or-miss, it had some of the annoying cliches that plague a considerable number of modern animated movies and I felt Genddy Tartakovsky would have done much better things with the direction but the executives enforced him to follow strict rules that lead to the cliches seen. Don't get me wrong, I liked it but it wasn't very special, though I did watch it dubbed in Spanish, so maybe it could be a bit better in english.

I would have watched the second by now, but it's only avaiable dubbed on every theater.

Where Were You in 2002?

I basically started school when I was 5 years old in 2002. Not primary, but something of the pre-school grade/kindergarten.

I still hold the Halo soundtrack (with the sequel) among my favorites of all-time and some of the best in gaming. From this year, Era Vulgaris by Queens of the Stone Age was released and I loved it when I heard it a couple of years back.

Back in those years, I only had a Nintendo 64, so I didn't jump into the next gen until I got a GBA SP the next year and then an Xbox on 2004. I do remember playing with the PS2 of my cousins (mostly Gran Turismo 3).

I did watch at that time Raimi's Spider-Man. Loved it as a kid and I still liked it to this day. Harry Potter of course I watched, but oddly enough, I think on Colombia the first movie didn't come in 2001 but on this year. I'm really not sure since my memory is hazy on that. My other chilhood standout would be Treasure Planet (very underrated). I often rewatched it almost whenever it was on over Disney Channel. I'd say my favorite so far of this year is The Two Towers.

"Did a Tony Hawk game come out that year?"

The fourth game.

"Why'd he split with Bungie?"

Not the complete answer, but it does adress some of the issues.

RETROspective: The Curse of Licensed Games

Posted on 10/03/2015 at 10:31 PM | Filed Under Blogs

I'd say that many of the licensed games (especially those of modern animated movies and cartoons) turn out to be more on the range of average to meh than outright turd, but then again, the turd is always more present.

On the exceptions of the bad and licensed games in general, those licensed on Tabletop-RPGs also for the most part count. Just look at Baldur's Gate, the 40K Dawn of War duology, Shadown (SNES, Genesis and modern ones since Returns) and the good reception of others.

ONE OF US! ONE OF US!

Digital Distribution and Metal Gear

Posted on 10/03/2015 at 09:38 PM | Filed Under Blogs

I mix between the two. It mostly depends on avaiability and preference, as I have no problems with buying digital on PC and i'm glad that they now have refunds. I still don't do it on consoles for the avaiability issue as the only two consoles I own that allow digital (Wii U and 3DS) don't have their digital shops on Colombia (fucking hell Nintendo), besides that i'm old fashioned when it comes to consoles.

As for pre-orders, I have done none in my lifetime, but considerig the pre-order goofs in the last years and some of the potential unethical practices that can create:

Starfox Zero Delayed till 2016

Many important titles are being delayed and though it is quite odd, but really, i'm like everyone here:

Besides, atleast Nintendo isn't really ruining their consumers trust with this delay unlike Mighty Number 9 and Super Mario Maker may do wonders on the holiday season thanks to the hype.

Where are the Metal Gear Blogs...?

Aside from people being busy playing the game, I reckon it also has to do with spoilers.
