The credits theme for other M sounds like Star Trek to me. It starts and ends with the Metroid theme (ya know, the one introduced in the opening to Super Metroid), but besides that, it really doesn't sound like Metroid. But that's not a bad thing, right?
Those are some great songs. I really enjoy the spunky sound of Upper Brinstar in Super Metroid, and Phendrana Drifts is just beautiful.
I have mixed feelings for Other M because, while the story is crap and Samus' voice is sooooooo boring, the gameplay is really fun! For the most part, the music is atmospheric, but there are some great themes, and some of the cut scenes have those great themes, so don't turn the volume down too low.
Indeed, Super Metroid's soundtrack was creepy and fitting. It added a lot to a game that was already incredible.

I'm definitely a retro gamer. I do a review of a retro game every week for you guys, but it's also so I can enjoy as many classic games as possible. I have a growing library of NES, SNES, Genesis, Playstation, and N64 games. Honestly, I can't keep up with all the new-fangled gaming devices today; just give me my Super Nintendo!
I think the first Ninja Gaiden is the hardest game ever made. I've played it, but y'know. . . that's retro gaming for ya.
Brothers are great. I have TONS of memories of playing games with my bros. It's what we did. And hanging out to get a launch Wii was great too.
