I want to play Bastion again, and also beat a few other older titles. I need to play some of a game I've had for a while for review, too, but I won't mention that here.

This looks more like a PSP clone, to me. I'm happy enough having an Android phone, though.

I have good news for you, then: Amazon is doing their Buy One, Get One Half Off sale on some games, and Fragile is listed for 19.99 under that deal. Find some other older title you like, and you'll get yourself a pretty good deal with it.

Sure. But really, I think Sonic Rush or Sonic Rush Adventure would make better buys. The gameplay, while not exactly the same, is very similar, as are the stages. Consider checking out Nick's review of Sonic Colors for the DS, too. From what I understand, the game is very good. I'd really only recommend this as someone's "first" DS-styled Sonic if they really wanted a mode based on the original Sonic. Thing is, after those first three re-used stages, it isn't worth it. Sonic Rush/Rush Adventure/Colors are all going to have just as much real content as this, but they'll be cheaper, and perhaps a little longer.

Yup. I'm just glad that's the only place that mistake slipped through. The week leading up to and after, playing the game, I could not get it's name quite right. "Extreme" is totally a better game name. Totally.

While I haven't played any Parodius, I did some research. General consensus is that those games offer a little more variety than this one does. There are a few Parodius characters that make a cameo here, but Otomedius, from what I've seen, is practically considered another universe.

I haven't played it yet, I've been more partial to most Treasure games, like how you mentioned Ikaruga. I checked out a quick video, and I have to say it looks a bit more appealing than anything based on Gradius, for sure. I'll check it out, perhaps over Christmas time, and I'll at least say something about it at some point.
