Yeah, it's held up pretty well and it impressed me quite alot. Yeah, collectibles are easy but not too obvious which is great. Hopefully you do look forward to the rest too.

It's a pretty cool game. Yeah I only had a Gamecube back then, my cousin next door had a PS2 so my know how came from there, though it's very limited.
Amiibo's are 14.16 here in California if you factor the taxes. They are pricey but the price adds up if you buy them online, unless you buy alot like at amazon. Shulk's pose is like that because of his official artwork:
Alot of people do say that haman shaped amiibos do look awkward, which is why you have to try your luck at a store.
I like Brutal Legend for all the reasons you pointed out, I enjoyed it for that but it was ruined by the rts stuff. Agree with Super Step though. Sometimes I just go back to it to drive while listening to the music.
I don't have one but that's actually a good deal you're getting.
I'm making a list of top 10 DS games too, I announced it but I just that I haven't finised it yet since I'm working on something else. Great list, and agreed on Pokemon.
Pokemon, Smash Bros. and Mario Kart for me. The former has really great online is great for online play while the latter is good at local.
I'm still getting it even if it looks the same. I'll need something new to try on the New 3DS.
Both are really good so I can't help you other than telling you this: Starfox 64 3D is a really good remake, everything from the original is intact, except they redid the graphics and the voice-overs are the same with the same actors, but the sound quality is better. It has 3 modes, 3DS mode which uses a combination of gyroscope controls and normal ones. Original mode which is the same as the original with no motion controls. And Expert mode which is also the same. I'd say give it a go if you want a familiar game with a new coat of paint.
With Kid Icarus: Uprising, the game is great but the controls get some getting used to. The game is also packed with content, and as with every Masahiro Sakurai game, the game has a challenge panel like in Smash. It also has this feature that allows you to make the game harder for later challenges. It also has a weapon crafting system to make new weapons. If you want to see something new, then go for this one. The only thing you'll be missing out on the retail version are AR Cards for the game, and this plastic stand so you wont get tired while playing.
It really depends on you which you want.
Yeah, the game is really fun for the asking price. If you get a Wii U, I'd say get this, Super Mario 3D World, WWHD, Mario Kart 8, or Sm4sh.
