I'm not enjoying the lenghty dialogue in this game. Ys Seven had a similar problem, but the game play made up for it. The open world and exploration mixed with an interesting combat style is what saves it really.

Ys and Trails are a bit different in terms of combat. Ys Seven is a great game, but more along the lines of an Action RPG, whereas Trails is traditional turn based combat. If I had to choose between the two, Ys Seven is the better game, or Lunar maybe. I will keep hacking away at Trails though.
I'm a Tomb Raider of old fanboy and the thing that irks me the most about this "new direction" is that we may never get to see what the next evolutionary step for the Tomb Raider franchise will be. The last TR games released had some interested puzzles which involved mass and weight, and the last game to come out had you exploring the ocean and made swimming really fun. I was curious to see what the next game would have been like. Maybe more physics or mass and weight based puzzles. I kind of accepted the co-op game with the indian dude as an in-between break between main games, but I'm not excited to try out the new Laura Croft game. Just give me some cool puzzles man. I appreciate your thoughts on this game. You pretty much read my mind on the subject of the TR reboot. I'll eventually try out the new game, but I'll just keep replaying the wonderful HD collection for now.
Apparently the Mega Man comics cover bosses in each issue in the same order as the games. I will be picking up Mega Man comics now.
I've played Two Worlds 2 and it is kind of awesome. I used ranged weopons a lot if I remember correctly.
I'm only half way or so through the first Dead Island and I think I enjoy it more than this review does. Survival horror is my favorite genre, so when I see a wasted potential, I get real nitpicky. I'm not really sure what this series aims to be? It's like one of those in-between genres games like Dragon's Dogma. The closest game I can relate it to is Borderlands, which is a shooter, but I think this is a better game than borderlands. Personally I prefer a melle game to a shooter, so maybe that's the explanation. I particularly like the shanty town part of Dead Island. It reminds me alot of Resident Evil 2 and Racoon City. I like the weather elements of the world too. It's very gloomy when it suddenly starts raining. The controls are a bit floaty for a first person perspective game and you do get overwhelmed by loads of zombies now and again, but I still like being in that world. I like the open world in particular. It's odd for a zombie horror game. The Resident Evil creator was talking about an open world style game for the next RE game. Seeing as how Riptide is ranking high on purchases, I wouldn't be surprised if they look to this game for inspiration. I don't think the game as that bad, it could use tweaking in floaty controls and some refinement with weapon choices. The respawning is kind of stupid. I've enjoyed the game when people randomly jumped into my game online, but for the most part I'm soloing. Guns are kind of useless in this game, which is ok by me.

I don't mind the heat so much. I prefer it to cold weather. I just hate the cpu performance during hot weather.
It's a shame to stay indoors when the weather turns nice anyway.
