I was going to wait until Lightning Returns to replay all the games. I think I prefer XIII-2 really with all the monsters you can add and such. Have fun.

MGS5 will be on PS360. As far as I've heard anyway. I'm with you on the blackout thing. I've played every MGS game and of course there'se no doubt I will play the new one. I'm avoiding anything related to it and just want to be surprised. I will play through all the games before the new release and make up my own mind whether it's good or bad. I'm actually avoiding Bioshock Infinite at the moment because there's so much hype around it. Good god. I will wait a while for the hype to go away and decide later. Let's do this!
Well you could drop your hat into the "Always Online" debate brought on by that SimCity launch. Everyone whos anyone had something to say about that. Give it a go.
Umm you mean white knight like the ones from game of thrones who like to get down and dirty with loads of ladies right, right? Am I right?
when u get to the final bosses u might start hating it again. It's like an up and down thing with this game. The bosses on chris and jake levels are pretty rad. leon is more of a retread of old things. Ada is so awesome. It's a long game. It would be interesting if u kept up with blogs about your experience with this game. I think I would be interested in reading that.
I think part of the issue with the game is that it was compared to Gears of War and other squad based games but didn't do much better than those games in terms of combat. Taken as a purely action game where you are just moving forward towards a final objective, albeit with some awesome visuals and boss fights, and you've got Binary Domain. It's like a umm, japanime gears of war. I thought it was good. Especially at a bargain bin price. I got it off a steam sale.
I think a strong point is that it is short. The game ends when it needs to and that's okay. It's basically a mission run to the tower so-to-speak, like mario or castlevania etc. except with robots in tokyo. Actually, the game resembles FFXIII quite a bit especially when you end up downtown in the futuristic city.
Interesting post. I've had quite a few discussions about RE6 in the past, here and elsewehere. I for the record was able to enjoy the game despite all of its flaws. Yes, I know it sounds odd to someone who may dislikes the game, but I read up on the games mechanics and controls and found a sort of middle ground if you will with this game. I bought it on launch day and played through all the chapters with all the characters. It's a cool movie I guess? I sort of gave up on RE franchise and just accept it for what it is. I played solo by the way, I can't imagine playing split screen as one of the biggest gripes about the game is the closed-in claustrophobic camera.
Some tips...
Do use the skills and abilities menu at the end of each chapter to give yourself better aim, grapple escape, and ground recovery. It will make a difference!
Also, although the game has cover, only use it to recover stamina. Don't try to Gears of War cover shoot through the game. You will die. There is a stamina meter that diminishes after doing too many melee moves, so you should hide out behind cover to recover stamina quickly.
Don't be afraid to melee the hell out of these mofos. This is more a run and gun melee game than a cover/stop and shoot game. Run like hell!!!!
You will need to learn patience too. You will die a lot!
I think starting off with Chris and Wesker chapters is best. Leave Leon for last or you will hate the game for sure! Ada Wong chapter is fun and cool.
Overall, just try to have fun with the game. Try? I know it may be hard. I wish I was still playing so I could coop, but I shelved it away for now.
Totally agree on Revelations on 3DS. Great game and 3D is awesome.
*Update: The last game patch allows you to pull the camera back more. I really suggest doing this.
I feel like a hack for never trying this series. I had the PS3 game in my hands the other week, but put it back on the shelf for some reason. I've played many RPG series and think it's my fav genre. I'll put the series on my to do list for 2013.
I played Ascenion on iphone (my most played game las year) and thought it was amazing.
