I hate all the pissing contests,Justin. Internet tough guys trying to prove they're more snarky,more skilled, and more sophisticated than "Joe Average". It gets tiresome for me quite often. Then you have the ones who are just "dumb sheep". They'll jump on any lynch-mob band wagon they can just to ride the troll wave.

There's still fun to be had in gaming today and there are still good people. I'm very grateful for that! However, I'm not sure if gaming becoming mainstream is entirely a good thing. (Though I shouldn't say it's entirely bad either)

3 hours? Pretty remarkable all things considered. It would be cool if defeating all the bosses non lethally got you a different ending movie. Still, even having the choice for non lethal combat is pretty neat!

The 2D animated style looks really smooth in the screen shots! I also like how Batman pairs up with a new hero in each chapter too. If I ever get a chance to play this I will. Wayforward hasn't done me wrong yet!

I was so damn lucky playing fighting games. Everyone I knew was very nice. I never had people talk smack but I did have a few people "log out" before they lost to me. lol. It's cool. They seem to care more about that sort of thing than I do so I don't mind letting em dodge that bullet if they want to keep their rank up that desperately.

As for God Eater Burst it has a very interesting premise. Best way I can describe it is a post apocalyptic Monster-Hunter with an actual story.

I know on amazon pre-orders for games on the PS4 have been priced at $100.00. However, it might be a con-game by shysters to cheat gamers out of more money. That has happened with certain sellers on amazon before.

I concur. Her project seems focused on helping real life female gamers which I'm more psyched about when compared to a feminist talking about "negative stereotypes" tied to fictional beings.

However I think "cyber bullying" is more universal. When you put people behind an anonymous veil many of them act like assholes to everyone. Trolls don't really discriminate. They would go after you or me just as quickly as Shannon or Anita.

It looks like Sun-Higginson is also going to address how female gamers/testers/and journalists are treated in the work place too. That might be more informative.

One thing I can say is females do seem to have to fight harder to prove their geek or nerd cred. Female friends I know often get grilled and trolled harshly for getting trivial facts wrong of for mispronouncing certain words.

Aka, I cannot deny there is a certain level of sexism in the gamer/geek community. It maybe not as exaggerated as certain sensationalists make it out to be but that doesn't mean it's entirely non-existent.

PS: I'm so glad I still own my PS2. Might byuy a second one out of paranoia. lol.

I'm also totally for your "Play games simply to enjoy them" philosophy! You probably could do a kick-starter for it too. Heck, seems like any idea can be premoted on kick-starter!

I'm not a film student so I tried not to judge,Matt. However I did think 20,000.00 was a lot to ask,especially when some people on youtube get huge fan followings of viewers for much cheaper.

I agree 100% James. However it is good she's addressing something that happens to "real people". The problem I had with Anita was her "Tropes vs. women" crusade focused entirely around fictional characters. Aka, it seemed a bit useless to me and often times her facts were not even straight. (For example, Princess Peach has her own game where she saves Mario.)

I think trash talking between friends is fine. Aka, both parties know the other person isn't being serious. You also have the right to show some metaphorical or literal heat if a low-life is trying to troll you.

It's a tough balance between protecting innocent people yet not stepping on freedom of speech and freedom of expression. Afterall, some people take everything too seriously and with too much power they could get a lot of non guilty gamers banned just because they felt "offended".

I will not even be able to afford next gen,Lar. I also agree that Xbox live's gold membership is a sham. You shouldn't have to pay money just to play games with your friends online. Besides, how difficult is it to give people acess to netflix?

I know certain gamers might think of me as "entitled" but that's only because I remember when things were in fact better. It's difficult to accept changes when they're worse than how it used to be.

Likewise $80.00 a pop for a game is retarded. No thanks.
