Cary's Top Five Favorite Indie Game Characters!

Posted on 07/17/2015 at 12:40 AM | Filed Under Blogs

The good thing is that The Maw is also avaiable on Steam, so anyone with a competent PC shouldn't have a problem with that.

A Jazz Jackrabbit collection would be cool, although it depends if Epic Games (their developers!) still have the rights or they dropped it. That series along many other old PC games have become what it's now known as Abandonware, caused either due to a drop on the copyrights by the original owners, the original owners not existing anymore and/or because the software is too outdated for modern machines. Due to that, titles in that category are often share for free and played with emulation like DOSBox and in fact, The Internet Archive now has a collection of Abandoware that includes Jazz among them. Of course, there's some legal debate about Abandonware in general...

Anyway, I think my two favorite Indie characters have to be The Kid from Bastion and Meat Boy from Super Meat Boy.

Have you played FTL Faster Than Light on Steam if so whats you thoughts??

Love the game. It's hard even on easy, but it's rewarding, makes you improve and best of all, it's addicting once you get the hang of it. The soundtrack is equally amazing and it's now among my favorites.

1991 is Fun (whatever, bad title)

Really love Blood Sugar Sex Magik (with K damnit!). Badmotorfinger I don't have yet, but I do own Superunknown, which I think you should listen if you are going to do 1994. It's their more Grunge release rather than the Alternative Metal/Grunge of past releases, but it's still a masterpiece.

That DS version of FF4 is a remake with like Cary said rather than the original version (which is now avaiable on Steam also with a remake of The After Years). Though the Wii's Virtual Console has the original SNES release, the PSP has this if you'd like to check out.

Lots of games to play so why am I concentrating on Fantasy Life

Yeah, I know about the epilogue. I think I heard FES is avaiable on the PSN, so if I ever get a Vita and it's compatible I should look for it.

Like I said, I overlooked past the lack of freeroaming and cutscenes in P3P since I never played the PS2 games anyway.

On Prince, the guy really doesn't allow most of his music past CDs and music videos on tv, so like Joe mentioned, finding almost any song from him on Youtube is hard and even the official music videos that were once on Vevo got taken down by him. He's pretty much a control freak to Kubrick degree.

Kirby's Epic Yarn is a very charming game, though I can't seem to remember much from it. Still a good buy.

Joe, did you forget that Rare has been part of Microsoft since they left Nintendo? But to answer the question, don't expect the collection any time soon on the PS4.

What I've Been Playing

I bought Dracula X Chronicles following Ben's recommendation and the fact that they had three games in one UMD. It's a hard game and sometimes very frustrating, but I really liked it. I still need to find the original Rondo of Blood and SotN though.

Keeping Tablets

I have a Kindle Fire HD myself and I really like it as an E-reader. I've been thinking in connecting the tablet to the PC and bring some (if not all) of the comics I got from Humble since it seems my model does support comics.

Prog Fans Rejoice!

That was quite great. Digged how the song is melodic together with the Prog Metal but without compromising either one.
