After Burner Review

Posted on 10/09/2015 at 09:19 AM | Filed Under Review

Yeah, I think it's interesting that Namco is the real develper behind R.B.I Baseball as we knew it in the states.  I don't remember if I played After Burner in teh arcade myself, but I remember my dad playing it.  I think he was pretty good at it if memory serves correctly.

Stealth ATF, huh?  I've always been weary of early flight simulation games, but I'll have to give a try.  I remember having the option to get that game one day when I was in Funcoland with my mom.  But I remember turning it down in favor some other game I can't recall at the moment.

in retrospect, I'm glad I just went ahead and bought Uncharted 2 and 3 separately (already completed UC1). At first, I kept holding out hope that that Sony would make a trilogy for the US PS3.  Glad I didn't hold my breath for too long.  Still not convinced I need a PS4 yet.

I finished Unchardted 2 several months ago and I really enjoyed the whole game.  I don't recall haviung any trouble with Nathan dying unfairly due to the controls.  Could be a problem with the trilogy version or something.  Anyway, glad you enjoyed the game overall. I'll probably start Uncharted 3 in a few months.  Need to play through some other games to get them ready for review first.

PS4 Drops to $350 Tomorrow

$350 isn't bad for the PS4.  But I'm still curious as to what kind of Black Friday deals we'll get from Best Buy when the time comes.

I had to get a little help from GameFaqs to get through some of the tougher parts of the game.  But it was totally worth it. I recommend you do the same if you feel stuck on a level.  It's a great game overall though.

I agree Cary-- ActRaiser 2 was a major disappointment.  It took everything that was good about the first one and flushed it down the toilet.

Man, you were one wise kid to realize the value of getting your monies worth from $50 video games.  I'm not sure how old you were, but I'll bet that I didn't think that way back then.  Then again, I almost always had to used games, or wait until the price dropped, so I never would have plunked down $50 for any game since I didn't have the money.  LOL!

Thanks Snee...I've been quiet with the reviews for far too long.  I'm trying to do at least one per week-- two if I get a good groove going with my scedule for other stuff.

Acutally, I wouldn't scoff at you review Mario Kart fruit snacks.  Mark on classic Game Room HD on Youtube also reviews game related snack foods in addition to game reviews.  I'd probably some Mario Kart themed snacks anyway.

Nice read NSonic.  When my wife and I made plans to move from our apartement into an even smaller space...I knew my game collection had to be severely reduced.  I had about 300 NES games alone, not to mention the games and accessories I had for other systems.  There was just way I could keep it neat and out of the way.  Storage wasn't a good option either. So I sold everything except the PS3, Wii, Dreamcast, and GameBoy SP3DS XL systems.

Things have gotten better in years recent.  I've since re-purchased an NES, Genesis (and japanese Mega Drive), and Super NES.  But there's no way I'll ever have the library of games that I used to.  They're just too expensive and sellers want too much money.  *sigh*....well at least I'll always have the memories and small trove of games I can enjoy.

Not gonna lie though-- I feel like a "has-been" of the retro gaming community.  I hang my head in shame. LOL!
