They aren't bad in terms of character design and some area aren't bad, however a lot of level design and enemyies you encounter are substandard.

It very well could have been. Majesco as a publisher could have polished it. It could have been fairly decent with a polished execution.

Well I didn't pay too much money for it all. but all the games entirely cost about $100 or so I'm sure.
