Finally, I don't have to fight anymore! (:

I'm not lining up to buy one, but there are some interesting games slated up for the Xbox One. Quite frankly, I think that it's great that Microsoft backpedaled on its bad policies and have improved their product as a result. I recall another company who did something pretty similar with a certain $600 machine they released not too long ago...

At the end of the day, good competition is healthy for the market and great for consumers. I'd rather see all three neck and neck as it would mean they'd all have to work their hardest to retain their marketshare and attract new consumers.

Man, that's a tough one to choose. I really love Ocean Machine: Biomech, but both Addicted and Epicloud are so tight, they're hard to ignore.

Infinity and Synchestra have a lot of stuff I really enjoy, as does Deconstruction and Ziltoid. They aren't as great as some of the aforementioned albums, but they're better than a lot of other stuff just in general.

Honestly, and I know this is kind of a cop out, but The Retinal Circus is such a great cross-section of his career, I might just have to say that. Plus Anneke is there for like, the whole concert, which is great for a variety of reasons.

How about you?

Casualties of Cool was good stuff. It's definitely a different thing for Devin, but it kind of matches up with Ki and Ghost as it's not all country/bluegrass stuff. It's definitely catchy so I've given it probably three spins at this point. I've been wanting to hear it again now that it's been a couple weeks since I first listened, so we'll see how that goes.

I appreciate that Devin's stuff spans the spectrum and his style really ties it all together. Whether it's extreme metal, progressive, pop, ambiance, or this bluegrass/country stuff, it's all got him written all over it.

Fuck yes for Devin Townsend! The man is a musical genius, can't wait to see him in December with Chris. Was rocking out to Ocean Machine: Biomech on the way to work this morning. Looking forward to Z2, which I think is dropping in like October or November. More ZIltoid can't possibly be a bad thing.

I thought about including it, but "I sat in my room for a whole summer and binged on Perfect Dark, beating it on Perfect Agent and earning all of the cheats," just didn't have the punch I was looking for. Plus, it kind of makes me sound like a loser and I just can't let the internet know that. Oh wait...

Holy crap, I had that game too! I don't remember what it was called either, but I remember walking around the hospital hallways and then jumping into surgeries and zapping viruses hidden in organs in the body.

Just heard about this a few minutes ago, what a shame. I'm not much into the whole Hollywood scene, but he's one of those faces I'll miss seeing in new films. The fact that he died by his own hand makes it sting that much worse. RIP.

Thoughts on art,game-making,Phil Phish, and moral supremacy

Personally, I think I just kind of feel bad for Phil Fish. If Indie Game: The Movie is any indication, the guy seems to suffer from some really bad depression and I don't think he's particularly equipped to cope with real world problems. Most of his reactions to situations are the way I'd expect a child to behave and that seems to link directly back to whatever internal issues he's coping with. All that being said, he doesn't seem like the kind of guy I could go get a beer with. I may have some sympathy for him, but he definitely couldn't be my friend.

As far as Fez goes, the game is truly fantastic. I'm more interested in the art than the artist - that being said, if I like the artist behind something in particular it'll likely increase my appreciation for their art. For whatever reason, it's not the same in the opposite direction, but I'm glad because I'm sure there are plenty of artists that are just despicable human beings.

I personally prefer P1 to P2, so I vote for that!
