I'm on Twitter more, but I mostly follow 1up people and writers I respect. I definitely don't post or reply to political stuff, though I do sometimes reply to book posts that I feel I can say something noncontroversial to.
I think what game I remember most about 2011 is The Old Republic, the Star Wars MMO. I bought a new laptop just to play it, and I played it a lot, even though it wasn't that great. It had its high points though, and I enjoyed the time I had with it. Eventually I got tired of it though. At the end of 2011 / beginning of 2012, we bought this house in Phoenix and in January we headed across the country to live here.
Ha ha. Well, there are some banal pubescent humilities like pimples and (for boys) the voice breaking as it changes. So it could go either way. 
This one is pretty nice. Most of them seem pretty high quality.
They are definitely nice to have. I didn't think I'd buy more, but here we are.

it's got its strong points, but it's got some weak points too.

yeah, it's a big turn off. The other parts of this game might have aged ok, but not that.
