Mario Spin-off Games #8--Hotel Mario

Posted on 02/10/2016 at 01:27 PM | Filed Under Blogs

I played Hotel Mario a long time ago and I didn't think it was AS BAD as everyone says it is.  Now, granted, that was a long time ago and I didn't play very much of it.  But it did remind me of old single screen arcade games like Mario Bros., or maybe Mappy.  I'm sure if I tried it again I wouldn't like it as much, though.

Hey, you're not done with the NES and SNES Mario spinoff games are you?  There's the puzzle game Yoshi on the NES, as well as SNES titles like Wario's Woods and Yoshi's Safari.

I think I'm almost done with Paper Jam, which is good since Project X Zone 2 comes out next week.  Expect some blogs on that later this month.

Fight A Day 7: Talking About Street Fighter V Without Talking About Street Fighter V

I can't really get into SFV since I don't have a console that I can play it on.  But I will say that Cammy looks pretty darn cool in SFV.

I disconnected my Wii from my TV area about a year ago, and I just did the same thing about a month ago with my 360.

BaD #7: Thomas Minis

I was probably born too early to be into Thomas as a kid, but I did like to read train books like The Lilttle Engine That Could, so if Thomas was out when I was little, I probably would've been into it.

All of my little brothers didn't really get into Thomas that much, even though he was big when they were kids.  My brothers would've rather played Digimon vs. Mega Man vs. Metroids or something like that.  It's almost like they had a big brother who had some kind of influence over them or something...

Mario Spin-off Games #7--Mario & Wario

I wanted this game to come out to the US so bad when I was a kid.  I loved Mario Paint and the SNES mouse, and I was also into similar puzzlers at the time like Lemmings.  I don't know why it didn't come to the US, there was nothing to translate.  I think Nintendo could even redo this game on the Wii U or 3DS because the touch screen controls would be perfect for it.

I was only able to catch all the Pokemon in the first game.  I figure that's good enough for me.

Fight A Day 6: The Raging Demon in Tekken 7: Fated Retribution

Since I'm not big on 3-D fighters, I don't really get into Tekken that much and it's one of the few Namco franchises I don't know as much about.  So if I'm ever on Namco Jeopardy, I hope Tekken's not one of the categories.

With that said, there are a few Tekken games I do have.  There was one on the PS2 that had a hidden StarBlade arcade game in it, I think it was 4.  I got that when it was on sale because I wanted StarBlade.  I also got a Tekken game for the 360 when it was on sale.  I think it was 5 or 6.  I don't know.  I only got Street Fighter X Tekken because Pac-Man was in it, and you know how I am about Pac-Man.  And when Tekken Tag Tourament 2 came out on Wii U, I waited for it to go on sale before I bought it because all I wanted to do was dress up Tekken characters in Nintendo costumes.  Well, not REALLY all I wanted to do, but I am pretty silly like that.  Nina Williams looks cool in Zelda's dress, just so you know.

So my favorite characters in Tekken are as follows:  Nina Williams because she's tough and strong and wears Zelda's dress.  There's another girl that is cool but I can't remember her name, but she looks like the Ridge Racer lady after eating a can of spinach.  And there is another lady who has pink hair and is actually a robot.  The other Tekken characters I like are the non-humans, like the bear, panda, kangaroo, and wood guy.

I loved how one of the ways Namco celebrated Tekken's 20th Anniversary.  They released a free-to-play Galaga game but replaced all the graphics with 8-bit Tekken characters.  If you have a device that you can download it to, I recommend it.  Here si a link to my review:

Have you ever played Pokemon Snap?  Knowing you, I kind of doubt it, but it is a pretty fun picture-taking game.

I must've missed that X-Men preview.  I don't remember seeing it but I also don't remember getting up during any commercials either!
