I got LEGO Dimensions this past weekend along with the Portal 2, Simpsons, and Back to the Future level packs. I've only played a couple of levels, and I may answer my own questions the more I play, but right now there are some things I'm not so clear on. Like, what exactly do you unlock with the characters? New levels or those open hub worlds? Also, it sounds like you have to complete levels to be able to use certain vehicles if I'm understanding what they are saying in the game (but maybe I'm not). Well I bought the packs with the vehicles, so I should be able to use them right then, I think. But oh well, maybe I'll learn more as I play more.
I'll get the Dr.Who pack because my brother's girlfriend loves that show. And I'll get the Ghostbusters level pack because that's one of my top favorite movies of all time. I am really glad I got this game because I learned through it that there will be a Midway Arcade level pack, and I REALLY want to know what that is! I see the level pack has an arcade guy, a Defender arcade machine, and a Spy Hunter car. LEGO Dimensions was really trying hard to make me want to get this game! --Cary
Aw that's too bad. Well the Garfield fruit snacks had a unique flavor that no other fruit snack had back then, and no other has had since.
Yeah it's always fun when companies step outside their box. I thought it was cool when Square did that with Einhander (shooter), and Brave Fencer Musashi (Zelda-ish game).
Bluh, some of those Maw achievements sound like a pain to get. I like achievements, but I only try to do them if they're fun.
I loved this game as a kid. I never owned it, but I rented it a bunch of times. Right from the start, the SNES impressed me with games like this due to the graphics and sound.
It's a shame the ActRaiser sequel sucked so hard. They took out the fun simulation sections, which I might've been OK with had it not been they ruined the action stages, too. Your guy moves even slower in the sequel, and even though he has wings to glide and fly with, the play control was not as easy to get used to as in the first game. Plus it was just too darn hard.
For many years I racked my brain, asking myself why I never just up and bought the first ActRaiser back then. But once it was on Virtual Console, I bought it right away and answered my own question. I forgot that I could beat this whole game in an afternoon. It's very easy and short, which is both good and bad. But when I was a kid, I usually only bought games that would take me a long time to beat, since I felt I was getting my money's worth. I'm not like that now, but I was back then. So that's why I never owned it. Plus it was much cheaper to rent it for a buck on a weekend rather than paying 50 bucks for it. You know how things are when you're a kid.
But yeah, I still love the first ActRaiser and it's one of the best early SNES games out there.
I don't mind silly games, but I at least would like to be able to control them. At least enough to get past the first level. :)
If you read between the lines you'll probably be able to tell what my new blog will be about, if you haven't already figured it out.
I think it's funny that the Mario Kart Fruit Snack topic is getting the most attention in the comments here.:) It's not even a game!
Yeah I really think the fruit snack thing is not just an age thing. Do you remember Garfield Fruit Snacks? Those were the best!
