The original is one of, if not my favorite game of all time due to the Christmas '97 memories of getting an N64 with this game.
Don't remember the original multiplayer letting you out of a vehicle on foot though.

No, but I've played Guilty Gear Xrd Sign a few times. Beaten arcade at least twice with Sol Badguy and Ky Kiske on normal. Almost beat it with I-No.
I will say if the game you just reviewed has an easy online mode, I'm in. I do ok against the GGXRDSIGN CPUs, but cannot get past one match in the beginner lobbies online.

Reminds me, there was a student who worked for the university newspaper a while back, who, when our team beat the Gamecocks from I forget where, ran the headline "Jacks off Cocks." Someone said he's never work at a paper. Dude ended up at Houston Chronicle for years. lol
