I think Starlink will have elements from the SF series, but it's also very different, the biggest thing being that it's open world. I'm really hoping this helps the series to move in a new direction because it needs to.

Thanks, Nick, that's high praise coming from you. I certainly hope you're able to get a review copy. I think a lot of Nintendo fans are excited for this game.
Well I'm of the opinion that Adventures is the worst and Zero wasn't that bad. But that's just my opinon. I really love SF64 so I'm excited for Starlink, especially since it's so different from anything else in the Star Fox series.
Don't feel bad. I didn't 100% the game.
I just beat this game and I had over 200 deaths. Yes, it's hard, but the Quarble system makes it managable. This really is the best retro game since Shovel Knight. Everything is so polished, playing it was a joy.
I remember thinking that Skyward Sword was such a huge game (30 hours total), but that is NOTHING compared to BotW! It's a joy just to explore in that game, so enjoy it. Take your time with the story, there's no rush.
Loved Bloodstained. It was just so nostalgic and fun. And it wasn't frustrating, like you said.
Funny thing: I actually beat the original F-Zero on an emulator using a keyboard (don't know how, that game is tough!).
Holy moly, how do find such cheap AAA Nintendo games??? The Mario Kart one, okay, but the others, wow! Mario Maker is sooooo fun, glad you finally got it, and I know your kids will really enjoy just messing around with all the stuff you can do in it.
Also, have you not had time to play BotW? I know you have the game now, but it's not on your "now playing" list. This game deserves your time!
I don't understand how anyone can NOT like BotW. Sure, the dungeons aren't as good, but the focus is not on dungeons (play Twilight Princess if you want awesome dungeons); the focus is on the giant world in which you can explore. And that's where BotW shines brighter than any open world game before it. The world is huge, alive, and full of surprises. It brings new meaning to the term "exploration." Honestly, I think that alone makes it GotY.
Actually, if I were you, I'd just skip the Wii U and get a Switch. A lot of Wii U games are being ported to the Switch, so you won't miss out on much.
