Thanks,Adam! I try to make my villains interesting even if there have been some failures along the way. But this batch is promising. If I ever re-do the story I may have the opertunity to give them more depth.

I agree, I do not think anyone is born evil. And I have to say I'm equally disgusted by people who cheer on executions. There are times I'm for the death penalty (Depending on circumstance) but I would not want to watch it carried out.
I also think the idea of studying these people holds merit but I'm afraid they may somehow "get out" and as you said repeat the offense. But if the penal system got better at keeping these people contained then yes, maybe we could learn the causes of such behavior and how to reverse or remedy it! (Though in the case of long term abuse "healing the damage" could take some time)
Preventing people from becoming crminals through therapy and outreach help even before they committed a crime would be quite the accomplishment! (So long as we could do it non intrusive like without making that person feel targeted for "special treatment".)
Yeah, knixed out going to most fast food places a long time ago. When I eat a burger it's home-made.
As for soda it's the caffeine I'm craving. I'll still try wheening myself on the zero brands though. If it worked for you it might work for me! Before I attempted to go "cold turkey" as opposed to a gradual transition. It's probably why I failed.
Damn you Cary, always foiliing my feline domination schemes with the power of friendship!
I'm still struggling with my soda intake. I never thought giving up soft drinks would become an insurmountable challenge in my life. lol. I also cannot point a finger over hamburgers because I have a weakness for them as well.
She should. lol. Her look was styled just a little off Jane the killer. No relation though!
Bulk and Skull were always my favorite lovable bullies from Power Rangers. lol. You just know deep down those guys were good-hearted. I think they simply represented the rebel phase. In other words, the need to stand out as different.
There was a lot of that put into these,Chris. Ironically I have also known people who were "simply mean" without having a reason to be. Charles sort of embodies that as he came from a decent family and did not have any financial woes to speak of. He was simply kind of a jerk. lol.
Of all the villains Zip is likely the most relatable one to me too. I think most of us have been that little invisible guy at one point in our lives and it's easy to want to lash out at society when we feel used, abused, and unloved. I see a lot of my own darker traits in Zip!
I guess my villains might be deeper than I gave them credit for. No, they do not do evil for evil's sake. If anything CRADLE was created to protect humans from the perceived threat of "supernaturals" living in hiding amongst the normal folk.
But I do think what they do is evil. As for the death penalty? Well, if I rampage and kill a lot of people (or even just one) I would not mind being put on death row. Sure, there's a way to paint me in a sympathetic light. My mom committed suicide when I was young and mental illness has always been in my life. But that does not really excuse what I did in that what if scenario. Of course if I killed out of "self defense" that's a whole other story! I'd at least hope to get a somewhat fair trial in that case. (As it whether or not I would is a whole other debate. lol. I consider our justice system very flawed)
All that said, I have noticed that ugly lynchmob mentality you speak of in the masses. When we get to the point we want to see someone hang or fry just to feel better about ourselves there's something wrong with us too. I admit I've had this impulse sometimes myself and it concerns me.
Glad you're back,Nate!
