Disney Epic Mickey Review

Posted on 12/03/2010 at 12:21 AM | Filed Under Review

Well, I think a lot of people respect Warren Spector as a game designer, as well. From things I've read, he's been very passionate about the title in the last month or two. I really get the feeling he didn't actually play the game, himself, to see how dull it really was at points.

I wrote my E3 impressions giving the game the benefit of the doubt, but it's clear that it didn't change in execution at all since then.

We actually can't change the "Our Take" blurbs ever since he changed it to have the unique colors. I suppose Nick could, but general staff, at least, don't have access to that.

Edit: I did change "Out Take" to "Our Take," which I meant to say initially. I just wanted to leave a note so Vudu doesn't think I'm up to something.

It looks like WestWood Studios developed the SNES and Genesis versions of The Lion King, and Virgin Interactive published it.

The best part? They left in the cutscenes. Now you don't have to play this terrible game! Click here for the Disney Epic Mickey youtube channel. Then, click the "Watch Walkthrough Videos" button for the walkthrough directory.

In some cases, they show branching paths against specific enemies, but this particular walkthrough shows the "good" ending of the game.

Did it? Good to know. It's supposed to be for semi-professional productions, but I got it pretty cheap, since I had a Best Buy gift card lying around I had forgotten about. It's sad I haven't had enough time to use it more since I picked it up. I'm calling an audible and not podcasting tonight, rather tomorrow, just to spend some time relaxing after a busy Thanksgiving and school return from it.

Kinect and Move Sales Revealed

Oddly enough, from all that I've seen, my position on the abilities of the Move and Kinect have essentially reversed. Yes, Sony's Move has buttons, but the only read 3D detection I've seen possible is using the ball on the controller. All of Kinect's hacks and demos really serve to show the capabilities of the device, capabilities I wouldn't have believed unless I saw them.

Polif phony. Kai Gee In a phone. I don't know if I'd trust what Jeremiah Slaczka says about his name, since he's got a slight lisp of some sort, himself.

Unfortunately, I'd probably ask questions in the interview.

Good thing he mentioned it was!

I still haven't picked it up, and desperately need to, except for a terrible backlog of review titles. And that's sad.
