Spooky Reviews!

Turn based combat. You weaken the enemy and then you can imprism it kind of like catching Pokemon. By default you and your imprismed critters play as "stacked" i.e. standing on top of each other and you get 1 turn per team member using any of the powers available to you.

You can unstack and each member of your stack gets a turn but attacks seem to be much weaker.

You are probably going "Huh?" right now because you kind of have to play it to understand. You aren't given much in the way of instruction either so you need to figure a lot out for yourself.

Come At Me Fanboys.

Quite late to the party on my adoption of the Wii U. Paid $300 and got Mario Kart with it. I think there are maybe two games in my collection I paid more than 70 bucks for, Xenoblade Chronicles X and Tokyo Mirage. The rest of my 19 physical games I got for $40 or less. A couple of them were between $10 and $15 dollars.

I also have 40 or so physical Wii games for it and a pile of virtual console retro games and eShop games.

Mainly I buy games because they look like fun whether it is for my PS4, PS3, Vita, 3DS or Wii U. I may not agree with everything that gaming companies do but as long as they make games I think are fun I'll continue to buy their devices.

OK, except for Microsoft but I've hated them since long before they made their first console. Don't need to go into it because "it just doesn't matter"

Most of us here are a little bit long in the tooth to be fanboys. That's one of the reasons I come here. It is generally free of console wars bullshit

Yep, 3D Mario for me too. I find 2D Mario too boring and repetitive. I'd like a new 3D Mario with massive worlds to explore.

Nintendo Bait & Switch- Optimistic or Worried?

But this one is definitely not aimed at a younger audience. There are no little kids or grandparents in the trailer, just 20 or 30 somethings.

I don't get your assertion that it's an extension of the Wii U. The Wii U was a console with a gamepad that had a low res screen. You move more than about 15 feet from the console and you lose connection to it.

The Switch is a portable that connects to your TV through a cradle. All the power is in the portable unit. The cradle is a charging station with an HDMI connection for the TV. That's all it is.

So it's really nothing like the Wii U. You can't hold the portable in your hands and have dual output on it and the TV. No dual screen capability, no wiimote/nunchuck motion control support. It also uses cartridges not disks and I'm not even sure you'll be able to use a hard drive with it. My guess is no it will be all flash memory and cartridges.

So no, nothing like the Wii U. More like a tablet that you can connect to your TV

There's also a choice in the menus that tells you where the next couple of fragments are located.

If the orb is pulsing when you are in the present that's where it is. Find a place that is pulsing quickly and make sure you rotate your camera to see the room from all angles.

Well your patience is really going to be tried when you get to the bits where you have no clue what your next move should be. You'll stumble across what looks like a quest but it relies on you to have done other random things first or it doesn't execute.

I also opened a red and green pedestal at the same time and wasn't sure which one to hit first.

I still love the game but it really requires attention to detail in order to get everything out of it.

For fragments just keep your eye on the pulsing orb. When the pulse gets fast you know a fragment is close.
