Thinking About Playing Fatal Frame

Posted on 10/22/2014 at 08:38 PM | Filed Under Blogs

I've only played the first one and the Spirit Camera 3DS game.  The first Fatal Frame game would've been neat if it weren't for the fact that your character controls like she just got out of bed.  Ghosts could be chasing her, and all she does is stumble around groggily.  If you have a 3DS, I'd try and get Spirit Camera.  It's a good sample of what the big games are like.

The Silly Female Fighters of Arcana Heart 3: LOVE MAX!!!!!

I've never played an Arcana Heart game before this one.  It's certainly a fun and accessible little fighter.  And you're right, it is a bit like Waku Waku 7.  And yes I do know about that game. :)

Disappointed With Angry Birds Transformers

I was curious about Angry Birds Transformers, but not enough to download it.

If you want to play a really GOOD Transformers game, get Transformers: Fall of Cybertron.

Splatterhouse and Zombies Ate My Neighbors!

I never got into Splatterhouse and never played that Zombies game.

I'm lucky I had a PS2 when Psychonauts came out.  This is the first time in a long while that I've only had one next-gen console (Wii U).

Retro Game of the Week: Sonic the Hedgehog 3

Posted on 10/18/2014 at 04:16 PM | Filed Under Blogs

See now you're talking about a Sonic game that I actually like.  I was actually impressed by this one.  I loved how you could play as only Tails (only bad part of that was the Marble Garden Zone boss).  And it was the first game that let you save your progress.

I really liked the level design and graphics.  I think the only stage I liked better in Sonic 2 was Casino Night Zone.  I thought it was way better than Carnival Night.

The music was also great. My favorites include Angel Island, Marble Garden, andIce Cap zones.  And the boss music.  Even though it's just a rumor, I wouldn't be surprised if Michael Jackson really helped with the music.  He was always heavily involved with SEGA, and just listen to the bass line in Act 2 of Ice Cap.  Sounds just like Smooth Criminal.

Sonic 3 also had my favorite bonus stages.  Mainly because they reminded me of Pac-Man.

I thought the Sonic & Knuckles add on cartridge was a neat idea, even if it was meant to be all one game.  Man, if that were the case, that would've been one long Sonic game!

Tails is still the best!  --Cary

Game Oddities - Smash Bros. for 3DS Edition

Posted on 10/18/2014 at 04:07 PM | Filed Under Blogs

I have a feeling that as polished as these new Smash games are, they were still probably rushed in the QC department, hoping they could rectify things via updates.  I haven't seen any bugs in the 3DS version yet, mainly because the screen is a bit small. But one time in Classic Mode I was about to fight Giant Mega Man and when the battle started, he just walked right off the stage and defeated himself.  Guess he wasn't in the mood that day.

And I'm glad to review games that nobody else will touch and review.  And I'm thankful that you read and commented on my stuff!
