June Reviews!

I always imagined a MST3K game like a 3-D platformer where you could play as either Joel, Mike, Jonah, and I guess the new lady for the new season that I haven't figured out how to watch yet.  The bots would have shops or give you special skills when you ran across them.  The levels would be based on bad movies that they are stuck in, and they'd make comments every once in a while as you play.  Kind of like Gex 2, although that would probably get annoying.

This is probably as close as I'll get to an article about NGPC games.

My favorite NGPC games are SNK vs. Capcom: Card Fighters Clash and Gals Fighters.

Monster Boy is really good, but it got a little too hard for me around the lava and haunted house areas.

Star Allies is good, but Forgotten Land is much better.

You had to watch that WandaVision show on Disney+ to understand why Scarlet Witch was doing what she was doing.  I never watched that show so brother Jeff had to give me a crash course on it.

I miss print instruction manuals.  I just recalled yesterday how neat it was that Luigi kind of 'hosted' the manual for Super Mario RPG, since he wasn't really in the game much at all.

That would be cool if KAO the Kangaroo and the old Kangaroo arcade game were somehow related.  I wasn't a big fan of the old Kangaroo game, but it sure was popular.  For a while I saw it EVERYWHERE in arcades.  It even got a cartoon on Saturday Supercade, although I barely remember that one.  I was all about the Q*bert cartoon.

I remember a lot of those Infocom games, but I never played them much.  Maybe I was just a little too young, or maybe I just preferred point and click adventures that had a bit more visual pizazz.

I do remember when games came with all sorts of stuff in the box.  In particular, my favorite point and click adventure game, Zak McKracken and the Alien Mindbenders, came with a lot of stuff.  Since the main character was a tabloid reporter, the game came with an actual tabloid, and each article hid a clue to solve a puzzle in the game.  There was also a passport book and that's how they fought piracy because if you entered the password at the airport incorrectly too many times, you'd get sent to jail and the game would be over.  Another later game I had, Lemmings 2: The Tribes, came with a pretty lengthy storybook!

I just watched the new Dr. Strange movie on Disney+.  That movie made no sense.  At least the one eyed octopus from Marvel vs. Capcom 2 made an appearance.  I wish they'd make a Marvel vs. Capcom movie.  At least I'd know who some of the characters are.
