Why The Last of Us Movie Could Be Great for Gaming

Posted on 07/28/2014 at 07:53 PM | Filed Under Blogs

I wouldn't say it was that similar to 28 Days Later, but it was a lot alike the Road. Thing is, there was enough to differentiate it IMO that it could become a hit as a movie. And audiences have made movies that fit exactly what you described into megahits before even if it doesn't. But I think a zombie movie that focuses on a surrogate father/daughter  relationship rather than the zombies is just different enough to work as a movie, especially since both are well developed characters. I will say that most video game stories are generic, but there are ones with great original stories and ones with good enough ideas to justify a movie adaptation.

This is one of my favorite reads ever, comic or otherwise. Such a great story told so well with amazing characters and social commentary.

My advice is to play as conservative as possible. Play it safe, make sure you're always above half health, and pay attention to every party member. Otherwise you can get overwhelmed without realizing it.

Infinity Gauntlet definitely. Outside there, Age of Apocalypse or Marvel Masterworks Amazing Spider-Man is probably the way to go for a single paperback. Though if you don't mind a few more, Ultimate Spider-Man, New X-Men, and Astonishing X-Men are all fantastic.

Watchmen was my first foray into comics. Now I've got countless numbers of them. Out of Batman, I've only really read Dark Knight Returns and Year One. I thought DKR was really good, but not in the same league as Watchmen. Year One was good too, but I'd probably enjoy it more if I read it before seeing Batman Begins. I want to check out The Killing Joke sometime as well.

Other than that, The Animated Series gave me all I wanted from Batman's day to day activities, so I never had much interest in branching out. I'm more of a Marvel guy anyways, feel free to ask if you ever want to know what to read there.

I think you've been watching too much Moviebob. Not to say that the people you're talking about aren't scum, but that's not really all people there. And yes, fighting the minor injustices aimed at most priviledge people in the world is a low priority, but by that logic instead of modern feminism, we should be focusing on, as Bill Hicks said,

"Take all that money we spend on weapons and defenses each year and instead spend it feeding and clothing and educating the poor of the world, which it would pay for many times over, not one human being excluded, and we could explore space, together, both inner and outer, forever, in peace.”

Basically, if the first world problems of women should be corrected (and they should) then we should look at the other side of the coin. A much briefer look and actually asking whether this is actually an injustice or a priviledge every single time, but do so nonetheless. But again, worldwide inequality is like Godzilla and American inequality is like a cockroach.

Now, I'm gonna go think about how awesome Amazing Spider-Man 2 was to spite that guy.
