Tales of the Abyss Review

A decent port of a great game.

Tales of the Abyss tells the story of Luke fon Fabre, a boy who lives a sheltered life due to a kidnapping incident that he was the victim of as a child. After losing all of his childhood memories, he becomes a snobby and ignorant young adult. During a training exercise with his master, Van, a mysterious female attacker accidentally causes an event known as “Hyperresonance” which sends both Luke and his attacker to the other side of the country. Luke then learns about the conspiracies, wars and other events that were going on outside of the walls that he had been bound by. These events change Luke, and everyone that he travels with.

Call of Duty Coming to Vita

Guy Longworth of Sony spills the beans in a recent interview.

While the Call of Duty series tends to make its way to all of the available platforms, up until now, nothing has been formally announced for Sony's upcoming handheld system. Though Activision has still yet to make any sort of proper announcement of the game, an interview with Geoff Keighley on GameTrailers.com revealed that a title is indeed in the works. Guy Longworth, Senior Vice President for PlayStation Brand Marketing stated in passing that a Call of Duty title will release for the Vita this fall.

On their website, Arc System Works announced their plans to port their fan favorite fighter, Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus, to both PSN and XBLA. Rhythm Heaven Fever Review

When I die, I want to go to Rhythm Heaven.

If asked to describe Rhythm Heaven Fever in one short phrase, I'd say it's “a horse of a different color!” Like Rhythm Heaven and the WarioWare games before, Rhythm Heaven Fever does an excellent job of painting itself as a game different from virtually any other. It's more unique, more quirky, and more inspired than a lot of what I've seen in the past. For a title budgeted for release at $30, there's certainly plenty of content to keep the original feeling going for some time.

Tour de 64: Cruis'n USA

I thought the USA was larger than this...

Originally released in the arcades back in 1994, Cruis'n USA is the first game developed for Nintendo 64 hardware. With a pure arcade core, it forgoes realism to provide an emphasis on speed. Unfortunately, differences between the cabinet and final Nintendo 64 specs lead to a bit of a bumpy transition to the home system, adding to the issues it already had.

Little Deviants Review

This glorified tech demo fails to deliver an entertaining experience.

It is immediately clear that Little Deviants was designed to let you play with all of the Vita’s features. Within the first half hour you will use the touch screen, rear touch pad, motion controls, camera, and even the microphone. The ideas displayed are definitely interesting, but within that first half hour you will have seen everything the game has to offer. By the time I reached my first hour of gameplay I was already bored of all of the mini-games – even the good ones.
