Things appear to be looking up for Nintendo's latest portable.

The Nintendo 3DS may have had a rocky start but it's been gaining back ground since the holiday season. Now Andriasang is reporting that the 3DS has sold more units in December than any other console since Enterbrain started tracking figure numbers back in 1997 in Japan.

Catherine Review

Difficult block puzzles may now be my worst nightmare as well.

It’s not often that the gaming world is delivered a title with such depth, difficulty, and intrigue as Catherine.  Its dual gameplay elements blend aspects of the Persona series with extremely challenging puzzles alongside subject matter that has never truly been explored by a game before. While it suffers from its fair share of problems and squanders some of its own potential, the difficult gameplay will leave players with a sense of considerable satisfaction and the twisted story will keep them guessing.

Diablo III Faces Opposition by Korean Ratings Board

A delay in Korea could mean a delay everywhere.

We’re getting closer and closer to that fabled “early 2012” release of Diablo III. In fact, it seems like the hotly-anticipated dungeon crawler from Blizzard may be getting here sooner, as the company has submitted the game to be rated in Korea. The company has sent three submissions to the ratings board, with the first two coming back rejected and the third in discussion. While you would be forgiven for assuming that the problem is due to violence or religious issues, the reality is something much tamer, and yet could have large repercussions. The controversial auction house being implemented in Diablo III is something of a stumbling block for the Korean ratings board, which sees it as edging too close to gambling.

Steam Passes 40 Million Accounts

The PC game portal posts some impressive numbers.

If you play PC games, it’s pretty much impossible to not love Steam. Between insane sales (like the recent holiday sale), built-in achievements, and a large selection of games both big and small, it’s tough for competing services like EA’s Origin to keep up. That may seem like an obvious statement, but Valve released some figures today that show just how far ahead the PC digital download portal is.

Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 2 - Innocent Sin Review

Time is a harsh mistress.

As a fan of the Persona series, I'm delighted by the release of Innocent Sin. It's the one chapter I've never been able to experience, solely because it was left in Japan more than 12 years ago. Now that it's here, my feelings on it are mixed at best. Truth be told, Persona 2 is not a game that has weathered the years well. It's full of old school RPG designs and has been completely eclipsed by Persona 3 and 4. At this point, Innocent Sin is a game that only the most diehard of fans will be able to appreciate.
