Dead Rising 2: Case West Review

Frank West and photography are back, but is it for the better?

Dead Rising 2, though similar to Dead Rising, changed up the formula and improved upon the gameplay elements set forth in the original. Case West, the latest expansion for Dead Rising 2, makes further changes to that core formula in its short two and half hour quest. True co-op play featuring Frank West, a new rescue and objective system, and the ability to take photographs distinguish this experience from the main quest.

Namco Museum Megamix Review

A nostalgic collection that's big on value.

Wacca, wacca, wacca. If the sounds of Pac-Man make you nostalgic for a time when arcade games munched your quarters like the pizza shaped hero did pellets, here is a well-priced collection. Namco Museum Megamix is a collection of 24 games; eighteen classic arcade games and six modern revisions. Though the new games lack the heart and meticulously balanced gameplay of their older brethren, they do offer some brief multiplayer fun. The old games show their age, but there is so much stuffed into this game, it's a great value for its bargain bin price.

Tour de 64: Bust-A-Move 2 and 3

Bust a move, skill to prove.

Released exactly one year apart, Bust-A-Move 2 Arcade Edition and Bust-A-Move ’99 (more commonly known as Bust-A-Move 3) are essentially the same game, with just a couple features added to 3. Like Tetris, the bubble-bursting puzzler has seen release on every system imaginable. Also like Tetris, if you’ve played one version, you’ve played them all.

Golden Sun: Dark Dawn Review

Dark Dawn teems with buff and brawn, but is it worth returning the world of Weyard?

Golden Sun: Dark Dawn is rich in gameplay and lore, packed with style built from the first two games, and although it shines very brightly, the experience is unnecessarily darkened by design regressions. Still, is it worth playing? If you like story centric, character driven RPGs, you bet.

Set thirty years after the events of the second game, The Lost Age, Dark Dawn is the third entry in the Golden Sun universe, and the first to hit the Nintendo DS. Players familiar with Golden Sun titles will feel right at home the moment the game begins, immediately greeted by revamped visuals and the sounds of familiar themes and characters. Don’t worry if you haven’t played either of the preceding Golden Sun titles; the game does a terrific job explaining histories of events and characters without shoving it down your throat.

Medal of Honor Review

If you haven’t purchased this game yet, good choice – if you have, you probably should’ve just waited for Black Ops.

It’s been awhile since the Medal of Honor series has had any amount of relevance. Unfortunately for fans, even with the release of the latest in this series, it remains irrelevant. Medal of Honor is, for lack of a nicer term, a Call of Duty rip-off. It borrows the same style of quest, features similar controls, and even bares semblance to the multiplayer mode. You would expect that if EA was to borrow all of these elements it would at least do them better, but what we are presented with is a game that doesn’t match up to that series at all. Without question, players would be better off checking out any of the past three games in the Call of Duty series instead.
