There's depth, challenge, variety, humor, puzzles, and plenty of sidequests. What else does a gamer need?
As someone who acquired a PS2 during the middle of its lifespan, I was able to experience a wide variety of its offerings. Of the 120-something titles I own for the system, the Ratchet & Clank series has always stuck out in my mind as one of the best series on the system. It combined elements of strategy, satisfying combat, great platforming, and thoughtful puzzle solving into a world full of unique characters chock full of humor. Since the very first title, the two main characters have been on a whirlwind adventure; first together, then alone, only to finally wind up split apart, taking players through two very different and unique storylines.
Save files from the previous two PS3 Ratchet and Clank's unlocks goodies in the newest installment.
Players who already own the previous Ratchet and Clank titles, Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction, and Ratchet and Clank: Quest for Booty, will unlock certain bonuses when they pop in Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time.
Players will take control of Clank and get some hands-on time with his new abilities.
Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time is quickly approaching retailers' shelves, since its release date is officially less than one week away.
The upcoming PS3 title is officially complete and set for an October 23 release date.
Earlier this week Insomniac Games community relations manager James Stevenson posted that Ratchet and Clank: A Crack in Time has officially gone gold. This news means that the game is officially complete and has been shipped off for manufacturing within North America.
It is currently unknown if gamers will see this on North American soil.
Kevin Smyth, SCEE Product Manager for Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time, recently announced a collector’s edition for the game coming to Europe for the game’s release on October 30, 2009.
