PixlBit's 2011 Supplemental Awards

Just when you thought awards season was over...

Last month we announced our Game of the Year award winners by genre, platform and overall game of the year, but we weren’t through showcasing the best that 2011 had to offer.  With so many games deserving of the moniker Game of the Year we have decided to expand our awards ceremony into 2012 with the 2011 Supplemental Awards.  These awards seek to recognize games that excelled in a specific area whether it be through technical achievement, sheer enjoyability or utter disappointment.

Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition Coming to Retail

An Amazon posting points to a release on June 28 for the new version of the game. UPDATE: Capcom has confirmed the news.

Recently confirmed by a Capcom promo video, content from the Arcade edition of Super Street Fighter IV will be making its way to the home console version of the game in the form of DLC. A posting on Amazon indicates that a complete retail version of the game might be coming soon as well.

Super Street Fighter IV Review

Nick missed the original release, but click through to find out his opinion of the "super" update.

Super Street Fighter IV is the follow-up to the popular Street Fighter IV released just last year. The game features a number of new fighters and modes, and is considered the most complete version (currently) of Street Fighter IV. To be honest, I've had no exposure to Street Fighter IV prior to playing Super Street Fighter IV. As a matter of fact, the last Street Fighter game I've played was Super Street Fighter II on the SNES. I enjoyed the series quite a bit back then, so it has been nice to see just how far it has come.

Capcom Delays Three Major Titles to the Next Fiscal Year

Monster Hunter, Street Fighter, and Lost Planet are all affected.

Capcom has recently released a new document which reveals both the sales forcast and release dates of Monster Hunter Tri (overseas), Super Street Fighter 4, and Lost Planet 2. The three titles will be delayed to the next fiscal year (April 1, 2010 - March 31, 2011). The delay was created to avoid competing against major titles from other publishers and to maximize potential sales.
