You can buy US Vita games right now!
The PlayStation Network Store for the PlayStation Vita is now available. Those who imported a Vita from Japan can now buy US games.
The controller that looks like a Tablet may be one after all.
Earlier today The Daily announced via an unnamed source, that Nintendo plans to release an app store for the Wii U, which is scheduled to release sometime this year. While Nintendo has already implemented quasi-App stores through the use of their DSi Shop and Wii Store, the Wii U’s unnamed app store looks to expand far beyond this, offering a wider array of apps. Additionally it was noted that Wii U owners can expect to run apps both on the Wii U and the controller independently.
Could the Online Pass be coming to handhelds in North America?
The PlayStation Vita was recently released in Japan with a North American and European launch coming this February. Since the Japanese launch, the internet has been abuzz with information regarding the hardware and software as it has been released in Japan. While most of the buzz pertains to information that was already well known, Destructoid discovered something not previously publicized about Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational – that the game requires an online pass to play online.
The Welcome Back program, however, is still not available.
Today, Sony announced via the PlayStation Blog that the PlayStation Store functionality has been restored. With the store back intact, Sony has released the first offering of content which includes sale items, new releases, and downloadable tracks for the popular rhythm titles.
