So it's a pretty safe assumption that you've heard about the Nintendo Switch by now. Nintendo is finally combining their handheld and console hardware into one risky gamble for their next platform. With this comes discussions on how it will compete with the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and mobile platforms to carve its own niche, but did you know there is also another dedicated handheld releasing in Spring 2017? Yes, even though Sony may or may not release another handheld, there is a new contender to take their place with the Smach Z, a handheld dedicated to playing Steam games, as well as other PC titles with some troubleshooting. Sly And The Gang Are Sneaking Onto Vita This Fall

Carmelita also confirmed as playable

Developer Sanzaru has been lovingly working on the Sly’s first foray on the PS3 for quite some time.  Announced last year, the Cooper gang’s next adventure will take the misfit group through the ages and apparently onto Sony’s latest handheld device, the Vita, as well.

NeoGeo X Handheld Confirmed For Later This Year

How much will you pay for a 90s arcade cabinet in your hands?

A little over a month ago, we reported that an SNK NeoGeo portable handheld system was being produced, and today more details have been released on the retro-inspired product. Reports are coming in that Blaze, a "retro console and accessory specialist," has made a deal with SNK Playmore and distributor Tommo to bring the handheld console to store shelves.

PlayStation Vita Review

Home console quality gaming meets the handheld market.

Mobile devices have put casual gaming at the frontlines of the handheld market, but Sony’s PlayStation Vita is a newly bred handheld beast with the power of current-gen gaming. It would be good to ask if Sony’s hardcore approach amongst the current casual gaming boom is a smart business move, but that can only be revealed in the near future. For now, we can only look at the Vita’s technical specs to judge the system. With that in mind, the Vita is a console with a lot of highs and only a few lows.

PixlTalk Episode 44: Crew Two's Vita Blues

The first week of the second crew of the PixlTalk podcast debuts, complete with Vita whining and a hodgepodge of topics to conclude the show.

As hinted at a couple episodes ago, PixlTalk is going weekly once again. Rather than hearing the same crew every week, each crew will occupy alternating weekly time slots and tonight's episode is the first from the second crew. Vita Limited to Single PSN Account

Bad news for those looking to share.

There's been a wave of not so good news concerning the Vita these past few weeks.  With the announcement of expensive memory sticks and a UMD Passport launch lineup that is somewhat lacking the Vita is in a position where it could use some good news.  Now isn't that time though, as we have no found that the Vita will severly limit your PSN account flexibility.

Resident Evil Revelations to Cost $10 More Than Average

Expect to pay a console-like price for the handheld game.

Those of you looking forward to next year’s release of Resident Evil Revelations will have to fork over a little more cash than you may have expected.  Today Capcom announced that the 3DS exclusive will be selling for $50 - $10 more than the average cost of a handheld game.

Namco Bandai Announces Trio of Vita Launch Titles

Looks like you could be rolling things into other things on day one.

Now that we know when the Vita is hitting the states it’s time to start figuring out what’s going to be available at launch.  Leading the way is Namco Bandai who announced today that three of their main franchises will be available day one.

Nikkei Confirms Cafe Touchscreen Controller

In addition to being a controller it can be used as a portable gaming machine.

As has been rumored, Nikkei (translated by Andriasang) is now validating claims that Project Cafe will indeed feature a touch screen controller. They claim that the controller can be used specifically for its intended function or as a portable gaming machine.
