Xenoblade developer taking on Sega/Namco Bandai/Capcom crossover
Project X Zone may be one of the most ambitious crossover titles to date. The strategy-RPG-fighter is poised to set iconic characters of major Japanese publishers Capcom, Namco Bandai and Sega against each other in a battle for supremacy. With three behemoths coming together and mixing their IPs in this lovely video game soup, one begins to wonder exactly who would get developer duties on the project. Would it be Capcom? Namco Bandai? Sega?

Just when you thought it was safe to forget about West and Zampella, the former Infinity Ward employees who sued Activision over unpaid wages, new reports have surfaced from multiple sources indicating the Call of Duty veterans have received 42 million dollars from their former employer.
Capcom is reconsidering how it manages DLC for future titles. Jason has an idea.
This issue of PB & Jason is about downloadable content. Specifically, Capcom fighting game DLC. If you're not familiar with Capcom and their recent fighting game issues, let me paint the picture: They've conditioned many of their fans to hold out on buying the first edition of a title, since an upgraded version with bug fixes, balance adjustments, and new characters is often on the horizon. More than that, they've locked content on discs behind pay-walls, then reacted with surprise when they learned gamers weren't happy buying a game and then being charged a second time for content already on the disc. In PB & Jason, I take a look at a serious alternative, suggesting a few benefits that could be had for all involved. Oh, and don't forget all the talk about Tales of Graces f and new, used, and backwards-compatible PlayStation 3s! Join me for the best PB & Jason for this week ever! Real Pokéfreaks now have four games to buy this fall.
If you’ve been struggling to keep up with the outpouring of Pokémon spin-offs, supplements, and apocryphal adventures, then get prepared to be completely overwhelmed. The next mainline games being released (Pokémon White Version 2 and Pokémon Black Version 2) were announced in February and many were shocked that they were destined for the DS platform instead of the newer 3DS. We have now received word from Nintendo that 3DS owners will be able to augment their Pokémon Black/White Version 2 games with the eShop exclusive title: Pokémon Dream Radar. Additionally, an exhaustive version of the free Pokédex 3D application will be available for purchase in the eShop – Pokédex 3D Pro – that will contain every Pokémon from the property’s enormous catalog.
Take the fight online on PSN and XBLA in June.
Remember Virtua Fighter 5? The game came out just a little too early to capitalize on the new fighting game boom that Street Fighter IV kicked off. Sega’s highly technical fighter had a lot of positive buzz among critics but never quite found an audience at release, with the PS3 version famously lacking in online play. Flash forward a few years and Sega is ready to take another stab at the game in a different format. Virtua Fighter 5 is coming to PSN and XBLA with some new features, and it’s coming soon.
Bear witness to my journal of failure!
Avernum: Escape the Pit is in love with the '90s. In fact, it’s so in love with the '90s that every copy of the game should come with a flannel shirt, a can of Crystal Pepsi, and Nevermind on CD. Spiderweb Software has created a new game that feels old, not unlike what Capcom did with Mega Man 9 and 10. To gamers that cut their teeth on games like Ultima and Baldur’s Gate this is fantastic news, as games like this simply don’t get made very often anymore. For gamers such as me who were weaned on consoles and people under the age of 30, this game is a total head scratcher.
