Sonic 4: Episode 2 Has a Release Date

It only took two years…

Sega has dropped the potential release date for Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 2: May 16, 2012.  The throwback sequel to Sonic 3 will appear as a downloadable title on Xbox Live Arcade and the Playstation Network.  As previously reported, Team Sonic has no plans for additional episodes in this series, so this very well could be Sonic 4’s final episode as well.  The title is also slated to appear on PC, iOS, Android, and Windows Phone devices.  You can check out the game’s reunion trailer here.

PB & Jason Issue 82: Mr. PB & Jason

Doesn't Mr. Game & Watch deserve a full game to call his own?

This week on PB & Jason: Lies, deceit, evil twins, a wedding, and a funeral! No, no, not really. Instead, there's talk about Kid Icarus: Uprising! Nintendo's favorite angel takes on the armies of the underworld and also multiplayer vs. matches. What do I think about Pit's revival? Well, let's just say it inspired me to speculate about what could be done to bring back two other Nintendo franchises that are basically dead in the water at this point: Game & Watch and Balloon Fight. Rock Band Blitz Brings Harmonix Back to Their Roots

Forgoing the traditional peripheral-based input, the upcoming downloadable title channels Amplitude and Frequency.

Today, Harmonix officially announced Rock Band Blitz for both Xbox Live Arcade and the PlayStation Network. Rather than utilize the peripheral instruments that have made the series a hit, Blitz requires players only have a controller on the ready to play the beat-match title. Just like Amplitude and Frequency, Rock Band Blitz brings multi-track arcade gameplay that has players switching between instruments on-the-fly to replicate the song.

Sumioni: Demon Arts Review

Repetition and missed opportunity make Sumioni extremely disappointing.

At face value, it may be easy to mistake Sumioni for a 2D iteration of the Okami series. It has similar sound effects, aesthetics, and settings, as well as the ability to draw on the screen like you do with the celestial brush; even their logos are similar. However, Sumioni doesn’t even come close to matching the merits of Capcom’s sprawling adventure. Instead, Sumioni is a repetitive hack-and-slash that fails to capitalize on its unique design.

Resident Evil: Chronicles HD Collection Coming This June

The two previously Wii exclusive titles are coming to the PS3.

Game Informer is reporting that Capcom today unveiled the release window for Resident Evil: Chronicles HD Collection. The collection of the two Wii light gun shooters will be released this June on the PlayStation Network and individually at a later date.

I haven't been interested in this week's latest gaming news, nor have I picked up any new titles between this week and last week. So what do I do? Spend the week to talk about Dragon Quest titles and RPGs in general!
