Modern Warfare 3: Should You Be Excited?

An extensive look at the features and changes being made for the next Call of Duty. Short version: the answer is yes.

Ah, it’s that time of year again – the leaves are changing, the temperature is plummeting, and we are all preparing to gorge ourselves into turkey-induced comas. But for me, there is another meaning: it’s time for another Call of Duty game. Regardless of your feelings on the franchise, Call of Duty is an absolute juggernaut in the gaming world. Despite its consistent success, however, the franchise continues to receive criticism for its lack of ingenuity with recent installments. This year may prove to change that, as Modern Warfare 3 looks to include a new rewards system, game modes, and mechanics (not to mention elite) to the already popular franchise.

Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Revelation Review

It's a SNES RPG through and through... now on the DS... in America.

After my five-year-old self was handily beaten down by Dragon Warrior on the NES, I swore off the series -- until recently that is. Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Revelation marks my first true experience with the mega-popular Japanese RPG series. Thankfully my reintroduction has been a smooth one. While I wouldn't consider SNES RPGs a genre in and of itself, games in the genre that debuted on the system all have a similar style and presentation that promoted a far greater degree of accessibility. Being that I first got into the genre here, Dragon Quest VI made me feel right at home.

Sorry eager fans, you'll be waiting till 2012 for your fix.

Capcom revealed today that Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City won't be making its previously announced release window of fourth quarter 2011. Powerup Heroes Review

There's more depth than expected, but nowhere near enough to carry it for more than a couple hours.

All of those years as a kid where you’d run around like an idiot in the backyard, pretending to be Street Fighter characters has finally paid off. PowerUp Heroes is the real world manifestation of those play time shenanigans. With the use of your trusty Kinect, you’ll be throwing hadoukens and raising the dead with simple gestures. Unfortunately, PowerUp Heroes never progresses beyond this simplicity, leaving players to execute the same basic strategies from beginning to end.

Portal 2: Peer Review Review

This is how DLC should be done.

I'm almost unsure as to why I'm even bothering to review this particular downloadable expansion to Portal 2. For one, it's totally free, and two, it's more Portal 2. How could anyone complain about that? After playing through the entirely new set of test chambers, I know I can't. Fact of the matter is Peer Review is more of a good thing.
