Robert Bowling, Infinity Ward's creative strategist, has resigned from Activision. He made the announcement yesterday over Twitter. "Today, I resign from my position as Creative Strategist of Call of Duty, as a lead of Infinity Ward, and as an employee of Activision," he said.

As expected, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has been a massive success for Activision. Like past installments, the game has grossed in the billions; however, Modern Warfare 3 has managed to reach the mark faster than any other. In just 16 days, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has made $1 billion. This surpasses a record set by James Cameron's 2009 film Avatar, which grossed $1 billion in 17 days. Lomorin Sar, a 31-year-old man, started asking employees what time they were done working so he could shoot them in the parking lot as they left. Then, for good measure, he threatened to blow up the store.

Last year Modern Warfare sold 4.7 million, while yesterday, Black Ops managed to sell an impressive 5.6 million copies. This was an estimated sell through rate of $360 million - a $50 million difference above what Modern Warfare 2 pulled in before.
