Mass Effect 3: Extended Cut DLC Coming this Summer

Free DLC to provide closure to the controversial ending.

Those angered by the endings of Mass Effect 3 may finally get the closure they desire. Bioware has announced that this summer, the Mass Effect 3: Extended Cut DLC will be released to give fans “clarity to the ending of Mass Effect 3 and insight on how your personal journey concludes.”

Well, let's just say it inspired me to speculate about what could be done to bring back two other Nintendo franchises that are basically dead in the water at this point: Game & Watch and Balloon Fight. Double Dragon: Neon Announced For XBLA, PSN

The reboot will feature an '80s neon style.

Double Dragon has already seen several reboots over the years. There was the Game Boy Advance title, Double Dragon Advance, that released back in 2003, an XBLA HD version from 2007, and an iOS version released just this past year. All of them are based on the original arcade game, which turns 25 this year. Enter Double Dragon: Neon, the latest remake in the series.

Rock Band Blitz Brings Harmonix Back to Their Roots

Forgoing the traditional peripheral-based input, the upcoming downloadable title channels Amplitude and Frequency.

Today, Harmonix officially announced Rock Band Blitz for both Xbox Live Arcade and the PlayStation Network. Rather than utilize the peripheral instruments that have made the series a hit, Blitz requires players only have a controller on the ready to play the beat-match title. Just like Amplitude and Frequency, Rock Band Blitz brings multi-track arcade gameplay that has players switching between instruments on-the-fly to replicate the song.

Pokemon + Nobunaga's Ambition Coming to US

The unlikely crossover will be known by western audiences as Pokemon Conquest.

Back in December, Nintendo and Tecmo Koei revealed one of the oddest crossovers in video game history. Pokemon and Nobunaga's Ambition were to be combined into a unique turn-based strategy game for the DS. Today, Nintendo of America announced plans to bring the unlikely title to western audiences as Pokemon Conquest.

Journey Review

Journey is just that and then some.

At its core Journey’s focus is on something we do every day without thinking about it – walking.  We walk around our homes, we walk to our cars, and some of us may even walk to where we are going throughout the day.  Even those of us who are unable to walk with our legs find some other means of locomotion to trek to and fro.  Basic movement to us is like breathing – we do it unconsciously even though it is an important aspect of life.  So when I say that Journey is about walking, I am saying that Journey is about something we take for granted.  It’s about what happens on our way from point A to point B.

Chrome Xbox 360 Controllers Coming Mid-May

The new controllers feature the transforming D-Pad.

Those in the market for a new Xbox 360 controller will have a few more options come mid-May. Microsoft is planning to release a Chrome series of their controllers, which features a glossy red, blue, or silver finish. Retailing at $54.99, the controllers will all feature the transforming D-Pad, which gives players two modes of operation. In its default position it will operate just like the D-Pad on the standard Xbox 360 controller, but when turned, it does a better job of sensing the cardinal directions.
