Bayonetta to Appear in Anarchy Reigns

Platinum's online brawler just got a little more awesome/weirder.

Platinum Games, the studio that burst from the corpse of famed Clover Studio, has had a pretty decent track record of ridiculously fun – if still a bit offbeat – games such as Mad World, Vanquish, Bayonetta and the Metal Gear Solid offshoot, Revengeance.  While Revengeance may be getting the lion’s share of attention from the fans and media alike these days, the studio has been working on another interesting title called Anarchy Reigns (or Max Anarchy as it is known in Japan).

Sine Mora Review

Grasshopper and Digital Reality deliver a one-of-a-kind shoot-'em-up.

Sine Mora is a fascinating specimen, which should be no surprise to anyone familiar with Grasshopper Manufacture's other work. Once again, the team behind No More Heroes and Shadows of the Damned has delivered an experience that shakes up the established norms of a genre and provides a crazy, convoluted story that will have most players scratching their heads. This horizontal scrolling, bullet hell shoot-'em-up introduces a unique upgrade, special move, and timing system that drives the boss-intensive quest. While Sine Mora suffers from a few minor issues, its ingenuity and originality make it one of the best titles in the genre.

Ridge Racer (2012) Review

Where'd all the content go?

Upon booting Ridge Racer for the first time, I was a little confused and annoyed. After entering the "Gold Pass" included in the box I found myself waiting on a 550MB DLC download, which was subsequently followed by a day one patch. This however, was only a minor frustration; after all, the Gold Pass was unlocking three tracks and a few vehicles, so the benefits were apparent. It wasn’t until I actually got into the game that the true annoyance set in. As it turns out, the content contained within this Gold Pass was just as substantial as the content on the game's cartridge. Yes, that's right, out of the box Ridge Racer on the Vita offers a mere three tracks. Three. THREE!

Mass Effect 3 Review

So, it has come to this.

Five years ago BioWare released Mass Effect to the world. The first game in an epic RPG trilogy with the ambitious goal of having your character’s actions and accompanying consequences carry over from game to game;  creating an ever more complex and living world quite literally shaped by the player. As a result, Mass Effect 3 is forced to undergo scrutiny for not only how it handles as a standalone game, but as a conclusion to BioWare’s half-decade efforts as well.

PB & Jason Issue 79: Mass Disappointment

***WARNING: Minutes 5-8 of this podcast contain some MAJOR Mass Effect 3 spoilers!****

Remember last week when I said I didn't care about Mass Effect 3? I was wrong. Controversy has arisen over the game's endings, and said controversy is enough to make me care about the game, at least to a meager extent. If you're inclined to not know anything about the story and/or endings for Mass Effect 3, skip over a few minutes of the podcast, but be sure to listen to the rest! Why? Because there's Dillon's Rolling Western opinions, tons of Kid Icarus: Uprising information, a Club Nintendo update, more controversy with Tekken X Street Fighter and Sonic 4 Episode 2, and more! Click through to find the download, subscription, and listening links.
