The internet has been abuzz for quite some time now with rumors and speculation concerning the next generation of consoles. Most rumblings are completely unfounded – the results of a wishful fan's desire that their future console of choice fulfill some bizarre requirements. Yet as we creep into 2012 these rumblings have only gotten louder, ultimately resulting in the first concrete piece of news concerning the next generation and Microsoft’s eventual successor to the 360.
Does this mean that the next Nintendo console will see more support?
What Nintendo showed at the 2011 E3 Wii U reveal was only a taste of what their new console would be capable of. The sizzle reel displayed footage of games running on competing platforms and the conceptual demos were not running on final hardware. Truth be told, the Wii U’s coming out party may have resulted in more questions than answers. Nintendo promised strong third party support, but it’s largely been unknown when developers would get a chance to really work with the hardware.
Indications that the game will be coming this year also ring true.
The original Guild Wars made some waves when it was released by providing a rich and robust MMORPG experience without the financially restricting monthly fee. Zack Zero is the most aptly titled game I have played in recent memory. You play as the titular hero, Zack, who is a real zero. That may sound harsh, but ‘zero’ is quite fitting and describes much more than the game’s forgettable hero. The word is also applicable to the amount of new ideas this game has, the effectiveness of the controls and is precisely the amount of fun I had while playing.
We just need some dino DNA to bring this franchise back from extinction.
Well kiddies, it’s another fantastic Friday and that means another installment of my favorite bi-weekly column Missing in Action! For those of you not familiar with my weekly staple, MIA is a column where we pick a game or franchise out of the gutter, clean it up and present it for a current generation update.
Think you can play that demo as many times as you want? Think again.
Today Nintendo gave fans a taste of Resident Evil: Revelations via the first downloadable demo in the 3DS’ short lifespan. The first of multiple demos that also include ones for Rayman Origins and Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D, this will be the first time that many gamers are treated to what a portable Resident Evil will offer in 3D. But like all good things, this demo won’t last forever and is far more limited than you may expect.

No word on whether an Xbox 360 edition is planned.
