My PS3 is comatose. I've tried everything to revive it withough opening up the case and tinkering, which will be the next step. In a way, I'm kind of relieved its over. I don't plan on buying a new PS3 anytime soon, and in the end, I've mostly been playing old PSOne and PS2 games off PSN, which I can still play on my VITA, where I prefer to play classic games honestly. Not PS2 games so much, but I still have a working PS2 around the house anyway. 

I didn't by a PS3 when it first came out. I actually stopped gaming around the PS3 launch and missed out on PS360 revolution until the tail end before new consoles released. I really enjoyed the PSP and PSVita as well as 3DS during that time and eventually moved on to PC gaming and Steam.

I can cross out a bunch of games from my backlog now I guess, since I have no options for playing them now, which is a relief. I also have a PS4 now, so I should be giving it more attention now, and it looks like the 3DS is still getting great releases.

I'm a bit surprised to see all the negativity around the sequel. Even people who praised the difficulty offered in the first game are bashing on the new one. Is it unfair or are the devs expecting more from players to rise up to the new challenge? I've heard veterans of the game rage quit and have a difficult time making any progress. I haven't played the game yet, but all the complaining is keeping me away. 

Anyone play the game yet? What's the verdict? I'm going back to Fire Emblem.

Coincidentally, I was playing the latest Neptunia game, and if you aren't familiar with the series its a ridiculous take on the console war with anime girls representing consoles, Playstation, XBox, etc. The new game introduces the Dreamcast and its girlie avatar named Uzume. Here she is:
 
Notice the orange and white colors of the Dreamcast as well as the spiral logo on her tie. Not entirely sure why she uses a bullhorn as her main weapon. It is quite annoying to use in game. Sounds like those stupid  vuvuzela trumpets that drown out every soccer game I've seen. 

It really has nothing to do with the Dreamcast honestly? The weapon I mean. I would have much preferred an ULALA from space channel 5, which fits the games style perfectly, but that goes into a nother irk I have with Neptunia, and that is that it doesn't really go all the way with representing other games at all. It's not like Kingdom Hearts with it'd depiction of Disney worlds, or even Smash Bros with all it's licenced characters and worlds.

Im really liking the Supergirl TV show. I was a bit down on it at first, mostly because of the boring office stuff, but it has really nice action scenes and cool villain cameos. I like how they do Superman origin right, but spin it with a girl. It's become a must watch TV show every Monday night now and I look forward to it. It caught me by surprise. I love the Dragonball Z fight scenes. 

 

I need to get caught up on Jessica Jones, but so far I'm keeping up with Flash, Arrow, Walking Dead. Also thought Constantine was pretty good, but I like dark themes, and it was cancelled. :(

A new Neptunia release is upon us, and for better or worse, I'm a bit of a fan now. The better, it's fun. The worse, it oversexualizes young characters. As much as this style of game doesn't appeal to me, I really didn't hate the games I played, which were the last few releases. I just take it as  Japan having a different culture than ours, and I really don't like content edited. What I love is the over the top craziness of it all. It's kind of like the mirror image to an over the top macho shooter with splosions everywhere, except replaced with anime robot girls and cartoony worlds. It's just too much at times, but gosh darnit I find the games just dumb fun. I said I would keep an eye out for future neptunia releases, and enjoyed the odd spinoffs on PSVITA. Just as with the Atelier games, which I also surprisingly enjoyed, I now keep an eye out for new releases of what were once fringe games in my gaming landscape.

MEGADIMENSION NEPTUNIA VII 

I read something online recently about how shit the resident evil series has became. The fanboy in me immediately went into defensive mode even though I kind of agreed with what was said. It's the usual argument. Mainly that RE 0,1,2,3,CV are great, and 4,5,6, rev just suck. I like all of them, but prefer replaying the classic series myself.  The thing that bothered me was that there was no mention in the anti-capcom rant of RE0Remake or RE2Remake (which is supposed to be due this year).

Why does this so-called RE fan who loves the same games I do, not know about the remakes to get excited about? The HD re-issues have been a success and gives us old school fans a nice appetizer between big releases. Capcom needs to do a better job of advertising I guess, cause that new MP shooter seems to be making a lot of people mad, although I've read that it's actually really fun? I might try it out, I don't know.
