As I write this, there are 15 more days left of school which means 15 more days of long night shifts that cut into my free time (aka gaming time), sleep patterns and overall awareness of society. After May 25, that ends and for the next 3 months, everything reverts back to day shifts. Lovely, happy, managable day shifts. I wake up when everyone else does, sleep when everyone else does and not feel like a damn zombie like only a select percentage do.

So there's roughly 5 more weeks of school left in the spring semester of the campus where I work, which means 5 more weeks of 45-50 hour weeks to trudge through. When that's over, the kids are let out, the hours lessen (to a reasonable 40 per week) and the shift changes to daytime. Consequently, I predict that means more time for games. It's not like I'm paying Sony, Microsoft and Gamefly for the hell of it.

Due to work, I don't play a lot of games during the week. From Monday through Thursday (and whatever part of the weekend I choose to finish work before the next Monday), it's damn near impossible to play anything other than the short bursts of time I get from the Vita. I'm still giving plenty of attention to Plants Vs Zombies VIta (gotta build that Zen Garden, sell the plants so I can buy some more shit!).

Last weekend, I visited my parents for the first time since Christmas. While I was over there, I was reminded that my Dreamcast and all available games were in (formerly) my bedroom, just languishing in the entertainment center. I decided that I missed the console and wanted to bring it back with me and I did that very thing. What follows are images of one of the smallest DC collections documented but one that I'm comfortable with. There are some games that I've sold off in the past but I'm happy with what I've got.

Not too long ago, I posted a blog (http://www.pixlbit.com/blog/569/its_not_necessary_but_itd_be_convenient) where I whined about the lack of DLC for Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World: The Video Game. The news just came out that it has arrived for the PSN version of the game, along with a new character to play.

I completed the campaign mode on Uncharted 3 mere minutes ago and just right off the bat I can say that it was as enjoyable an gaming experience as the last Uncharted. Like the previous game, there were plenty of jaw-dropping sequences: the escape from the cruise ship, the hijacking and fisticuffs on the jumbo jet, the assault on a convoy on horseback and of course the escape from the lost city as its crumbling to the ground. The sights are amazing as well: the abandoned chateau in France (and the forestry surrounding it) and the desert sequences (which is probably the only time the game takes a breather).

I read a news story over at Shacknews a month ago about how Ubisoft once again announced plans to finally put an online multiplayer mode for the Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World video game, despite being 2 years too late. For some reason, it's entered my mind again and wanted to know if there was anyone here who would like such a thing.

I've been struggling for ideas about what to blog about. Rather than post the usual, every-once-in-a-while gaming update (not that there's anything wrong with that, if that's what you want to do), I've decided to focus more on a topic in addition to the usual updates. Last week, I continued my streak as a late adoptor to consoles with finally purchasing a PS3. I've decided I should blog about the PS3 games I've missed out on. I intend to finish these games or at least complete a huge portion of their content and post my thoughts. I've been an Xbox 360 fanboy for so long that I think Sony deserves some attention; strange, since their Playstation 2 got me through college and the next few years after.

Last week, thanks to that wonderful thing we call tax refunds, I made the jump and finally bought a PS3. It was a matter of timing that it happened the day after PS4 was announced but considering that I've never been an early adopter of consoles (I bought a Wii last year with 6 months to go until its successor arrived), it made perfect sense. I wish that I was able to purchase one in the past (previous tax refunds went to other, pressing needs at the time) but now seemed right because I've felt, more than ever, that I needed one. Yes, the PS4 will be here by the end of the year but it doesn't feel like I'm too late and the game library (and new titles coming out) is too good to pass up anyway.
